It's not due for official release until the end of September but Clove are offering preorder on the new 2014 Moto X 16gb sim-free version for less than any other retailer I can find.

Black Resin version for £408 (other retailers ~£420)

Black Leather version for £429.60 (other retailers ~£440)

Bamboo version for £429.60 (other retailers not offering at the moment)

It isn't a massive discount, but it's still money you don't have to spend for the same phone. Sadly, no sign of when the Moto Maker will be fully operational in the UK, or when the 32gb version will be available for preorder anywhere.

Not sure why the RRP is so high compared to the G (yes i know the specs ) but this a deal never the less.

Definitely a surprisingly high RRP compared to the G but that lovely super amoled screen may be part of the cause with Samsung pretty much controlling supply at the moment. Plus Lenovo may well be pushing prices for profit rather than Google's less profit focussed approach.

if motorola had priced this phone at around £300ish they could of had a winner, but over £400 is getting too close to other flagship phones from brands that already have a loyal following.

I had the note, moto G and the X and the touchless controls are second to none on the moto x. Also the live notifications and the camera filp gestures were not gimmicks but were regularly very useful to me. I will wait for this to come down a bit first though...

I do fancy the uk motomaker though:
