We bought this for our son to replace the previous excellent Bush Windows phone he recently lost on holiday. So far he's very happy with this item. For anyone after additional information about this phone - it is a cloned/re-badged Archos Neon 50C:

Speedtrum processor and FWVGA resolution stretched over 5 inches... Not great. It will have poor build quality too, like all Archos phones. £40 and it's a deal.
good piece of kit for the money.....hot...Not Moto G.
cheers OP
What's with the dual sim on all those cheap crappy phones? Are they used by CEOs travelling around the world on daily basis, or shady characters selling crack?

Wouldn't it be better to spend that money on more RAM or something useful?

It's a big feature in other parts of the world. I suppose it's cheaper to leave it in than take it out when they bring it over
How much internal memory has it got ? it states

4000MB/8GB of internal memory.

Internal memory is 8GB
Must admit I'm tempting to lean towards the sites which have "Verified Purchase" next to their comments. At least they have experience of the actual product and don't trot out the usual "If it's this/not this then it must be crap." type comments.

Oh that it should come to this.

"I know, I could tell from your cheap, crappy phone." lol

Dual SIM is a great idea......you have 2 always on phone numbers......you can have a work sim & private sim in the same phone....so no need for two phones...

I have a dual sim phone because since moving house I cannot get a signal from the company with whom I have my contract......but it's the number I use most....so at home I have a PAYG sim for the only network where I can get a signal

8Gb memory (expandable by micro SD) & 1Gb RAM

My 83 year old Dad dropped his Android phone at the weekend & found that unlike his trusty former Nokia.....smartphones don't bounce.

Bought him this today & he loves it......bigger screen & easier to grip with arthritis......the gel cover provided also helps with gripping (a second hard rear cover is also supplied

thing is, for most of us with two numbers (personal and business), we need data on both SIM's but most if not all only allow for data on one SIM (or 2G only on the other). I see how it can be useful for your needs though.

If its a company contract, they should provide you with a Sure Signal box for the house though.
Why don't the more expensive phones have dual sim? Why is it these cheapos that only do.

Cos the networks hate them. Many well known premium phones are dual sim in the Asian or South American version.
You can use one sim for data only, so you can just get cheap sims off ebay.

I can get 3G data on both SIMs on my phone

When I had a phone on a work contract it was only needed from 9-5 so no sure signal box.......but as far as I know they require a home wired broadband to work.......not everyone needs that these days
Total convert to dual-SIMS. Why carry two phones when you can just tote one?

MotoG has the best implementation I've seen whereas you can switch data between the two SIMs (only one is ever data active) without moving the actual SIMS.

As a side effect, I've had Vodafone and TalkMobile (who piggy back off Vodafone) SIMS in my phone. At one stage I had 5 bars on the TM and barely 1 bar on the VF SIM! oO

Ah fair enough. Basically, being in IT, I would require 4G on both my sims (or at the very least, 4g and 3g on the other).

I have an Honor 7 coming tomorrow so I will see how that operates as I have seen a dual sim in action.

That's because 1 sim will be using the 2g network and the other a 3g network so the signal strength will differ. For this reason you can't fully use a 3 sim in most dual sim phones, as 3 don't have a 2g network, you can't have data enabled on o2 for example and calls on 3. You can the other way round though.

Wouldn't call a Samsung S6 a 'cheapo' phone
