Sim Free Bush Spira D1 5.5 Inch Smart Phone £119.95 at Argos

This phone is now £119.95 instead of £129.95.

It also comes with a £10 argos voucher for spending over £100 and you get a Lebara sim with £10 credit on it and you get a free 16GB microSD card within the phone.

The phone itself is a re-badged Archos 55 Helium Plus.

I have bought one of these and it is a lovely phone. Lot's of nice touches, it comes with a basic case and a screen protector and, as I said earlier, even has a 16GB memory card in the phone.

Spec wise, it doesn't compare with say the Ultra 6 Plus but it has some things that doesn't. For example, it is Dual Sim and Sim Free so no need to unlock.

It is virtually stock android. There is no proprietary software on it except the Argos app.

I have used it for a day and everything seems good. battery lasts quite well and everything seems very smooth. All video apps appear to work well. Screen is very nice with nice viewing angles.

If you're looking to get your first smartphone, please don't get this. You may think it's a good deal as a major retailer is selling it, but no. It's worth £50 in real life. A first time phone that I would recommend would be the Motorola Moto G. It has better specifications than this phone, and is made of much higher quality.

disappointment all round, yesterday the glam15 code worked until some one reported it, i won't say who, and it closed at midnight.
if you buy it can you post a brief review?

Where can you get a phone this size with these specs for £50?

I bought it and you can read some of my impressions in the listing.

I think it is a really nice phone for the price. 15% off would make it very hot. Shame about that code.

The specs look horrendous next to my £99 Moto G 4G from 6 months ago

Did your Moto G 4G have a 5.5 inch screen and Dual Sim?

If not, why even make the comparison?

This is classed as a phablet. It will suit some and not others. But if you want to compare it to other phones then you at least need to choose phones with large screens like this one.

Just checked and the Moto G 4G has a 4.5 inch screen and a 5mp camera. This is 5.5 inch with a 13mp camera.

Apples and oranges.

The number of Bush devices I've seen returned to Argos is unreal. I had a bush TV (that had dead pixels) and a Bush Bluray player (which broke after a few hours' use). It's a good job you get a year's guarantee that's all I can say.

Are you serious?

Bush is just the re-badge that argos have put on it.

It is actually an Archos 55 Helium Plus:

http://www.archos.com/gb/products/smartphones/helium/archos_55heliumplus/index.html

i suspect you are just trolling rather than not knowing that Bush is just a brand name owned by Argos.

I wish the moderators here would do something about this nonsense. It is the reason I don't post deals often.

I've just deleted my last comment because I can't be bothered to argue over the Bush name. To be fair, the phone does look a lot better over on the Archos site.

Bush /Alba have always been a crap cheapo bottom end brand and I have no idea why Argos would want to buy the name.
As for Archos, don't even get me started !!
Anyone considering buying this crappy phone take a look at hotukdeals.com/dea…307 its only £5 more expensive but a fabulous phone.

the screwed up piece of paper flies across the room and hits her on the head, with a jerk she sits up eyes swivelling for a source of her discomfort. Her eyes fall on the instructor who is glaring at her " stop dreaming and read the text thoroughly".
"yes miss" she looked back at the page she had only scanned. oh, she thought, he has bought it, why did i miss that?

I have an Archos phone. Bought it from Argos in fact on a very good deal about a month ago. It is a very good phone and good enough for what I need it to do. If Archos and Bush phones are the same then quality should not be an issue. It is always a case of "horses for courses". Anyone wanting a 5.5" phablet with dual SIM would probably find this Bush phone a very good buy. Someone preferring a smaller screen and with no need for dual SIM would not want to buy the Bush phone. Quite frankly there are too many phone snobs out there who have to have something with a recognised or main stream brand name on it. No one should criticise other forum members for posting deals that don't fit in with their own ideals.

Totally agree with you clockwatcher.

I can't understand the mentality on here. "That 5.5 inch phablet with dual sim isn't as good as my 4.5 inch moto g with single sim"

It would be a good site without the morons.

Had the phone a couple of days now and all is good. Seems very reliable.
