How is it? I'm torn between the V30 and the S8. The front camera on the V30 is what concerns me.

Yes, it does.

Chinese seller = No warranty (manufacturer or EGlobal ), possible import duties and VAT to be added , virtually impossible to return . You mean you didn't know that ? I've been told on here that everyone understands that when I've posted warnings in the past .

At least with Currys you get the manufacturers warranty , can return it if duff and don't have to pay import duties /VAT when it arrives in a month or two

Also with currys you occasionally get a £300 gift card for absolutely no reason, still can't really work out what happened there.

Yes - but at least with Eglobal you don't have brain dead salesmen accosting you instore...

And even worse as they come under UK consumer law - Curry's trying to palm you off with going back to the manufacturer when it's them as the retailer who you have the contract and warranty with. They are outrageously awful.

Providing you have done your research and know what you want to buy those "Brain dead " salesmen have often given me an extra 5% -10% off when I pretend to dither - its called "haggling " You really should see it as an opportunity ,not an annoyance .

Not going to argue with you for the sake of it - I'll continue to avoid both Curry's and Eglobal.

I went for the v30 because it has a flat display which is far better for consuming movies/tv, which is what i mainly use my phone for. However the panel itself isnt quite as good. overall the s8 is better value since you can get it for about £100 cheaper.

They're about the same on the contracts I'm looking at. I'm on the G5 and aside from the GPS I really like it. Had the G3 and G4 too. I'm not keen to lose things like the double tap to wake, gesture selfies and the wide angle camera which the S8 lacks.

Are you talking about the misprice PS4’s or was it the Xbox one
Bought V30+ 128GB from eglobal (they are absolute dogs) 1 month I waited and cancelled. After about 2 weeks re-ordered and got it in 1 week. Went onto LG UK website and registered it and have got 2 years warranty. Mine also came with the B&O headphones which I've heard aren't as good as the quad headphones designed for the DAC chip from LG US. Ordered high impedance ear buds straight away soundmagic E80c. To make use of the DAC chip you need a set that can offer 50 or more impedance. Got decent cans that sound amazing but can't be walking around with them etc.

I was worried about the screen bleed and inconsistencies in screen colour patches but I don't have any - looks LG have fixed this since the late Oct handsets. Used screen testing software to confirm.

The front camera is the worst I have ever seen/used on a phone to date. LG comp. Dropped the ball on this. Don't care personally as not bothered abt selfies. But has to be said we are talking webcam quality! For some reason with LG putting a quad DAC chip you'd think the brains would have made stereo speakers but no...

Even with all these faults, the phone is gorgeous. It's light, slick and there's something about the phone that will make you luv it. I've got the 5T and Note 8 as well. Had the iPhone X but returned simply due to costs - there is no way in my opinion that phone is worth £1k+ compared to what the competition is offering and where the competition is at techwise. With all these new handsets I can't say what it is abt the V30+ but it's my goto handset.

Strongly advise checking the phone out but not from eglobal or pay inflated UK prices.

Dont know about the selfie camera as I never use it, however I had an S8+ 6months ago and returned it due to the finger print location. HAving said that my son got an S8 for Xmas and the fringerprint location is much easier to reach due to the smaller size of the phone. TBH I'd probably go for the S8 as it much easier to use one handed and is much smaller and thinner plus will probably get updated more frequently. Also it's cheaper and availble from UK sellers.

Bought 3 phones from eglobal and never paid import duties. All came within 2 weeks and mine were delivered in the UK via DPD. Maybe I am lucky. Never had to return a phone, I just look after things. Don't have kids so that takes away 1 risk factor. Good case and screen protector. Happy days.

Risky? Please explain. I have bought 5 items from them over the last couple of years with no issues at all.

Also the lies that some idiots on here spread about import duties, there are none. Wish people were honest on here.....

Is your phone a non-UK variant? It's just that I didn't think that you could register for UK warranty if your phone was Taiwan, HK variant etc. ?? That's one of the things that has put me off of buying from EGC before.

Proof is in the pudding - removed the IMEI for security. And yep my phone is a non-UK variant. I think the only difference between the UK LG V30+ is £300+

Strange that I have bought numerous things and they turned out to be fine. Have you ordered from them before or is your opinion based on pure conjecture?

H930 appears to be the Euro variant which EGC is selling (https://www.techwalls.com/lg-v30-model-number-differences/) - this is good as obviously it should fall under warranty. If it was a Taiwan or Korean variant LG UK wouldn't honour that. Its good that EGC are selling this Euro version - last year I bought an LG V20 Taiwan variant. It is running fine but if I get a problem with it I wont be expecting LG UK to help me out.

Plenty of -ve reviews all over the web - no smoke without fire - 1 of the worst companies to deal with when things go wrong - they simply do not give a f... period.

Ahh - apologies thought mine was non-Euro. Never understood this concept of not honoring warranty/allowing registration for a MOBILE device created by a manufacturer in a different part of the world OR purchased from a different country; its just a cheap way of removing all responsibility. It's the same product globally minus the software/firmware. I travel a lot and live in diff. countries temporarily whilst a project is ongoing, so just pathetic by these big brands to act like this.

I understand your caution but my experience has been very positive. I bough an LGG6 phone with a far better spec than the European one for £320 from egc. Three months down the line I sold it on ebay for £320! It is a risk but you must balance that against the low price you are paying.
