No Windows 10 for this yet, description is a bit misleading.
Looks like a good phone apart from the lack of front camera.
I ended up getting one of the Blu Windows phones for my daughter in an Amazon deal.
From my research it seems that Windows phones at the low end are a lot better than equivalent low end Android phones. But I could be wrong of course. :-)
windows phones at any end are better. I have a Nokia 920, a moto g 3 rd gen and used to have a iPhone 5s. Windows OS is by far the easiest to use and most stable. ios and android have more apps but no where near as good to use. Looking forward to next years surface phone.
Love this phone, got 2 in our household. Hoping Microsoft phones are a sucess in the future as wouldn't want to go back to Android now!
Thank you for posting. Merry Christmas.

I agree that Android is full of bugs - across all my phones I have always had some sporadic battery draining issues, for example. But I would not dismiss the wide range of apps - if an Android phone can do it, and a Windows phone can't, the Windows phone is not suitable as my primary device.

That being said, I would really like to try Windows Phone. Is this a good opportunity to get started?

Argh, I just noticed 800x480 pixel. What is this, 2010?

It's £39....

anyway, at the price I can't see why anyone would go for this over the brand new Lumia 550 from 02 at £49
I love this phone, bought one as a backup phone to my Lumia 830 and use it most days. I'm running the Windows 10 preview and it's been great, almost perfect in fact. Be aware it IS a budget phone, but it's a great budget phone, far better than some of the cheaper Android devices I've used in the past. When I was replacing my 830, I used this as a daily driver for a few weeks and didn't mind it at all. So good was it that I bought my Daughter one as a first phone (disposable).

After decades of using Android, I moved to Windows Phone, no regrets at all. I won't be back.

Buy it and try it......

Good news, Lumia 435 does have a front camera!

My mistake, I meant no rear camera. :-(
Carphone Warehouse were selling these on PAYG to "upgrade" customers earlier this year for £9.95 so I'm not convinced £39.95 is that much of a bargain.

My son used this for about 6 months before moving to a hand-me-down Android phone - it's a small screen, and its very bulky - think 1cm+ thick. The back and sides all come off as one part. It doesn't have the widest range of apps, and those that you pay for seem considerably pricier than their equivalents on Google Play.

Better options at this price IMO.
So gutted they stopped selling these PayG on O2 website for £29.99 last week, now I'm gonna have to shell out an extra tenner
535 available as a PAYG upgrade here for about the same price

It has a rear camera too! Not a great one though. Apart from that it's a superb phone, I'm happy with it.

You can dowload the Lumia selfie app free of charge , from microsoft store on the phone.

I beg to differ. Android handsets in the price range are generally very laggy. Windows Phone OS is very smooth, even on the budget handsets
These where a fiver on virgin and 10 on t mobile cpw. This will be locked too ... cold from me. Im not sure they are worth what they are asking

Just collected one from Argos ,nice little phone for the money too . Not locked , just had get my standard giffgaff SIM card cut down to size [micro] for it too fit . It's responsive and the screen is not too bad. I've never had a new Windows phone so it take me a few minutes to get used to it :-)

I don't see why would anyone go for it if Lumia 535 is same price on o2 pay as you go.

The thing I love about Windows phones is that the experience is mostly the same across all devices. It's the camera that mostly sets a flagship model apart from a budget one, but in daily use (aside from photos) they run much the same.

No fragmentation, no horriffic speed differences, everything just works the same. Flagship, mid-range, all works the same.

Yes? That is two major versions out of date, and 1GB means that even Chrome and Facebook are going to struggle. If anything, this proves the point.

A midrange Android phone can be great, but the bottom end is no fun.

Wont using this on the net ..............got no data , wont be using any apps either ,got Android tablets for all that . Just wanted a decent 4" phone . Already got a 5" twin Sim Android phone but these are just too big for jean pockets etc .The 435 is a nice size and a decent phone to boot . I like it a lot already and for the price it's a bargain .
