Think Motorola went backwards when they brought out this model.

I agree. No NFC seems quite an omission

no NFC 100%
@tyr@MrSwitch ok cool. Didn't want anyone thinking I was trying to steal their glory
tyr08/03/2020 18:02

no NFC 100%

That is somewhat disappointing as you said G6 Play has it.

It would be an issue for me personally but I know some people aren't bothered about it
Got the G7 power for my daughter, great phone for £120, battery lasts forever, plays all the games she wants and no lag.

A grade is boxed. It is effectively like for like. We have to unseal the products to test in, much to the customers annoyance. So most A grade products are in fact brand new, we've just unsealed the box to make sure the product isn't fake. In my lengthy career at CEX i have never seen an A grade product that someone has used before, it doesn't happen.

Some A grade are new.

Most? Nowhere near.

Most don't look A grade and the store will argue with you over it.
This deal is for an Argos purchase. Why has it turned into a CEX Vs Argos debate? If I want new, I buy from a recognised seller of new goods. If I want second-hand (and I don't) I'd look at a second-hand dealer or Ebay.

I dropped my Motorola G7 recently, and the screen is slowly disintegrating. No-one on the High Street in any of 4 cities tried would repair it. I can send it away for 3-4 days or travel miles to one of the very few stores that will do while-you-wait repairs, but the cost of the screen repair will be at least £70 plus postage/travel.

No-one seems to consider repair costs or "this phone just won't be repaired" issues in all these reviews, where they argue screeds about whether the camera on phone X is 2mp better than the camera on phone Y, so "sooo much better in low light". I get the aim is to flog more and more phones, but how many working phones are tossed every year, because of repairable damage?

I might go for this offer, simply on the basis that I can't justify right now the price of a Fairphone 3 - the most repairable phone on the market - and I'm fine with plugging in a phone to recharge it. So I'm voting hot.
Was going to buy this but decided on a vernee instead, 4gb ram 64gb rom, triple camera.

Does this phone support Wi-Fi calling? Lots of high end moto phones don't support Wi-Fi calling, which is a step backwards for high end phones. The rest is good

It’s Chinese (obviously!!!!) - it IS sold by Amazon which I thought was a good sign. I got mine (I was looking for inexpensive and Android 10 and dual-SIM) direct from their EU HQ in Germany (post free) in 3 days from eBay

My moto g6 play went bust after having it just under a year and argos replaced it the same day. Apparently they have different rules for each brand. Motorola is one of them where they just replace on the day, send off to get fixed then sell it on their ebay store.
Really like my Moto g6. I would consider an upgrade to another Moto but can't believe they are leaving out NFC and compass again!
It's a good brand, don't ruin it!

Ps. Moto actions are the most useful thing ever!

CEX don't offer cash refunds without fault, only voucher refunds.
They're very sneaky about it in their Ts&Cs
