You can get the G4 PLUS (in single and dual-sim versions) for just £10 more at Amazon Warehouse (Like New). Better deal IMO

Why is there no mention or the Ram? 1 or 2 GB? Come on Argos!!!!

Bought a refurb Lenovo tablet from them and it was all scratched around the corners. Too late to return it when I finally opened it, so make sure you inspect this when you get it.

The G4 has an octa-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, 2GB of RAM

Great phone until the random shut downs when using phone. Seems like it's very common problem which has something to do with th he battery. Sent phone back to motorola who couldn't fix it. Looking at getting something else.

Do these Amazon phones come with a 12 month warranty or just the 30 day change your mind period?

Hi Dave. What sort of random shutdowns did you get?

I've have a just under 1 year old Moto G4 myself and find that if I press power button it sometimes opened the camera instead, but then other times it would shutdown and restart, then get stuck in a restart loop until I keep repeated to press the power button. But then it keeps doing this randomly if I ever need to use the power buttong again. It stopped for a period of time as I thought it was an app that caused it and after unintalling it seemed to be ok, but it started again last week. I thought it was probably a faulty power button, but perhaps it could be the battery if your experience is similar.

Honestly, I don't know. I would suggest asking Amazon. The Like New items for phones are often just damaged boxes, rather than used, so could be different to most used stock. Would be interesting to know though.

For £100, I'd be looking for a used/refurb Huawei P8 Lite 2017 or P9 Lite as they have 3GB RAM and excellent FP scanners, (if you can live with EMUI.)

You can always put Nova Launcher on it

They occur sometimes when I receive a call, especially if I'm using something like video chat. Other times if I'm playing games. Anything I do that uses a lot of battery causes it to shut down; then I have trouble starting it back up. If I have the phone plugged into the charger then it is less likely to happen.
I'm currently trying a procedure I found online where I have to fully drain the battery; charge it fully then leave it still connected for a hour. It's something to do with optimizing he battery; there are a few things to try but nobody (not even Motorola) has found a complete fix. Very annoying that not even Motorola can fix this.

Ah ok, thanks so much for the reply. It sounds like something very different to what I am experiencing then. Mine is all to do with the power button. I know when it usually might fail as the awake aspect when you slightly move the phone stops working, then every push of the power button is sure to try to open the camera or force a continued reboot of the phone.

I bought the moto C plus from Argos at 79.99 the other week.. its going back.. absolute lemon of a phone... I thought Motorola had sorted themselves out.. seen this clicked on thinkin it would be better but seems issues with this one too... I only need capability like the C plus has at a push ... sold my s7 as realised i dont need all the bells and whistles ... just camera couple apps and im sorted. Stuck again now as to what to buy! any help from those in the know would be great

I've never attempted an unlock on the old models, just this one. You just put the SIM in and it asks for the code, enter it, unlocked. Can't see why it would relock if you change the SIM though?

Exact same problem as you described. Was contemplating whether to buy a new battery or have a repair shop look at it, but I think now I'll just get a new phone. Poor form Motorola.

FYI I've found that the shutdowns occur only below 60% of the battery, and at about 40% you need it charging to turn on. Sometimes when you start charging it the battery will drop to empty and recharge at an extremely fast rate. Wiping Android hasn't made a difference although the phantom touches that previously plagued the phone have stopped, even when charging.

I've had the phone for 14 months and I'm very disappointed.

Cheers again for the help. The zte is amazing compared to the junk that was the moto c plus! Bigger lighter sharper and slicker! £1,25 for unlock on ebay ... took 12 hours to come through but better than 30 days wait with Vodafone to do it .

I think it's a real bargain. As someone that has had ZTE before, I'm not expecting any updates but then Motorola owners feel the same way I reckon...

Hello. Thanks for the reply (can't remember if I replied...?). But I decided to go for one of the Like New Amazon ones and once it arrived/confirmed working and pristine etc, I called Amazon who confirmed it will be covered by an Amazon 12 month warranty (and apparantly all Warehouse goods are + have an 81 day change your mind policy). Strange why neither of these periods are on their FAQ sections, but I did get an email to confirm the above, so guess at least I having something in writing for Amazon to honour should it be necessary to do so.
