Best deal around it would seem! good for the price! heat added

Great price, but I'm on the lookout for the 3gb ram model.... 2gb will limit the life of this phone for me. Nice drop though, heat.

I've been thinking about upgrading to a Moto G5 from my current 3 year old Moto 4G. I really like the Moto G's, is this the best option at the best price or...?

Motorola started making wireless radios with vacuum tube valves. they have been about.
My Moto g4 is a great phone

This or the Nokia 5?

This or the Nokia 5?

Build quality (the Nokia 5 feels way more premium in the hand), screen quality (gorilla glass, colour, brightness, contrast, viewing angles), sound quality and the inclusion of NFC and a compass make the Nokia 5 better for me.

Cameras are similar

However, the Moto G5 does have a higher resolution screen, if that's more important to you, and there are also some extra features, such as one button navigation, and Moto Display (which shows notifications on standby when you move the phone).

Thanks... might go for the Nokia 5. Only need it for the gym to play videos and music.

Indeed they produced arguably the world's first walkie talkie in around 1940.

It's just a shame Lenovo own them now and there's very little of the old (or even recent) Motorola heritage built into these phones....

anyhoo, great price for the phone

I upgraded from an old Moto G (3rd gen) a few months back on a very similar deal and I'm really pleased with the G5. Yes it's budget and yes it doesn't have the premium quality feel of high-end phones but at this price I think it's hard to beat. It does all the basics really well.

Its got a rare advantage over most other smart phones...........the battery is easily removable similar to the old basic Nokias

shocking phones and as for service its a joke never again will I buy a moto.

I've had a moto g5 since April as my phone I had on contract broke and I just needed a phone to do me till November when I renewed my contract, decent phone for this price but I get a lot of lag on it now, great for everything else though, I probably need to factory reset it but can't be bothered, in my opinion for 130 quid can't go wrong heat added

The customer service is terrible but the phones are generally solid.

I am using a Moto G3 at the moment, but only because my Moto G4+ died after 6 months and Lenovo/Motorola refused to repair or replace it, saying the software had been 'modified'. I have never rooted or installed different firmware on a phone in my life, if it was modified then that happened via an update or it was sold to me in that state.

Aside from that disagreement, I had to deal with their engineering and customer service departments separately, as well as a completely different department later on to lodge a complaint. Lenovo/Motorola's customer service is poor, be warned.

That said, the ancient Moto G3 I'm using right now still works, it's slow but it works. On the lookout for a new phone and I'm tempted by the Moto G5+, but just can't justify giving them any more money.

How does this compare to the p8 lite that can be had for £155, maybe less if cashback tracks? Oops, sorry, meant P10 lite.

This is the price I paid for the 3gb dual sim version from Amazon about 3 months ago. Suggest holding fire to see if it is back to that price this week.

Very weak SOC your better off with the P10 Lite deal.

I originally was after a moto but more and more looking at the P10 lite instead.

No compass = cold

Does it have the small flashing light to notify you of a new message when the screen is locked please? That feature is on my old Moto E but the alternative on later Moto E models of no light but a popup, visible only when you open the phone, is rubbish!

On all the Moto phones I've had over the last few years it has been an option in the settings menu.
I know this as I always turn it off to save battery life.

Thanks... for posting

I would recommend installing a custom firmware on the G3. It will bring some life into it easily. I did factory resets and all sorts and it still lagged, though what didn't help is that it was a 1GB version. Anyways I went and bought a Moto X style as a replacement and the G3 got buried somewhere. When I dug it out I passed it onto my sister who needed a phone at the time and I decided to do custom firmware on it and the change was amazing. I still have the files for the custom firmware if you're interested.

No NFC either! This and the fact it only has 16GB of internal memory is the reason I went for the p10 lite deal

Does this model suffer the ghost touch issues like it had with the 4th Generation phones?

I think the 3gb ram version is an Amazon exclusive in the UK.

Thanks for the info Mark

Just got one today 👌

P10 Lite is much better phone for the monies, but this is the cheapest I've ever seen this Moto!

I'd say I've sold around 40 of them and never had any back thus far with problems.

Have some heat!

I'm still using my original moto G which is about 5 years old now. Still works alright although clearly a little laggy, but not to the point I've had to upgrade.

I have the p9 lite and that is such a good phone for the money. The Kirin 658 in the p10 Lite should give the SD430 a bit of a spanking in all honesty. Games will be much better on the P10 Lite. Battery life should be easy two days with the p10 lite if you go easy with it. I easy get two with my p9 lite with average use. The only thing you might not like about Huawei is EMUI but if you slap Nova launcher on it that should fix it.

I would definitely put the extra and get this over the G5.
