My Halifax Clarity won't charge me;
I'll pay in Euros and decline Amazons offer to Rip me Off on currency exchange.

Heat from me.

Yeh they are. I received mine a few days ago sent out to the Netherlands. The only minor drawback is that it comes with a European charger, but I spend most of my time in mainland Europe so it isn't a problem. But most folk would probably need an adaptor.
Is this the dual sim version?
any samsung s8 plus deals similar to this?

Thanks not herad of this before. Shame the premium version doesn't allow unlimited cash withdrawals but will be a good stop gap for when they stop my use of the Norwich & Peterborough account.

Does anybody know of any other accounts that still offers no-load/no transaction fees for overseas debit card use?

I have credit cards that offer this already so looking specifically for debit cards. I don't mind paying a small premium for this facility but don't want to avoid a full switch and my salary being paid in (don't mind transferring a regular amount). Thanks in advance for any suggestiions.
Can this been insured as it's being purchased outside of uk ?

Same for Nationwide Select credit card.

Metrobank. No transaction or withdrawal fees in EU. MasterCard exchange rate. Has been perfect for past few years. Took four attempts to set up an account with them. All staff I spoke to seemed to be in their early twenties. All in all well worth it if you travel and shop in Europe.

We're insures this
I'm seeing €579 not €569 too
Never brought a phone from abroad so apologies if this is a silly question, apart from the charger are there any disadvantages to getting this from Amz Italy or is it similar to a UK Handset? as its unbranded I'm guessing will get all the software updates etc without issues.

Monzo has higher withdrawal limits than Revolut. I can send you an invite to skip the queue if you like.

Thanks for the confirmation, going to hold out til the end of the year and see what the new pixel and Galaxy note is like then get one, current iPhone still works perfectly but fancy a bit of a change from IOS.
Do you pay import Tax and VAT on these?

no; while we are still in the EU we can buy stuff from other EU countries without any import tax or extra VAT.
I am trying to return my phone to Amazon.IT but no courier will take it (lithium battery). Has anyone else returned theirs and know of a courier company that will take it back? Can believe what a ball ache this is! Thanks!

It may have to go overland, via ferry.
So I got my s8 delivered last week from Amazon.it using Revolut. Safe to say that it wasn't easy - for this size transaction make sure they validate your account/card before trying to buy otherwise it sets up a series of issues with declines, blocks and frozen 'pending' transactions. I spent about 3-4 hours trying to sort it out - including webchats in Italian to Amazon (thank God for Google Translate).

Great concept, but when it goes wrong it really goes wrong. Still, got my s8 for £505 in the end after all the hassle.
just wanted to pitch in on this as I've just got mine from this.
I used a Monzo card. £0 fees, and it got cleared within 10 minutes.
paid for the express delivery (€2 extra), bought Friday, arrived Monday.
make sure you choose the one sold by Amazon.
great phone. great deal.

Thank you - looks like the type of thing I am after. Free and no charges overseas. £1000 per month overseas is perfect - gives you a bit more flex.
Hmm, this phone seems to be £575 on the UK Amazon store, think I avoid the euro conversion, uk plug, uk firmware & potential delivery delays for the extra £50 to get it next day, tempting price as my s7 has developed a pink line on the screen
Stupid to spend this sort of money on an android phone. On an iPhone fair enough because it is far more refined and polished but for an android this is a ridiculous price. I have a galaxy S7 which I got for a good price but it's not a patch on the iPhone 6S it replaced.
