Water resistance related warranty is quite a scam I think. If you want to use it underwater, the so called warranty will not cover it. They will find simple ways to say you're lying and decline warranty claims. Third party warranties e. G. Cpw is even worse.

good phone, average price

Yup, that's why they no longer say "water proof", more of water resistant.

It is waterproof but they no longer advertise it due to warranty abuse.

Love the phone but 2gb of ram isn't fast enough it lags too much

I know someone who ran it under a tap for 15min because it was 'dirty'
seemed shock that it failed!
but delighted when they got to change handsets after breaking it under warranty.....

I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of sarcastic replies like I did on the other Z Compact thread but a 720P screen on a mobile at this price point is taking the p***. /tin helmet placed on head/

Cheap looking tat... played with it a bit in store and the body of it seriously feels like its made for a £50 phone not £400+ it was when released!

I bought one of the black ones from foniacs. I sent them a message and they confirmed a 2 year manufacturer warranty.

I then talked to Sony who told me that the 2 year warranty was not valid as they weren't an authorised reseller.

I've just forwarded this onto foniacs and will see what they say.

This phone gets so much hate on here but I love it.

Not a phablet, top camera, long battery life and expandable memory.

720p is fine for this size - 1080p would detract from the phone as battery life would reduce without perceivable increase in image quality.

From experience, premium feeling phones are delicate as ****. Drop them from your pocket and the screen or (utterly pointless glass backs) cracks costing £100+ to replace. Compared to my moto g which is made of cheap plastic and it is as sturdy as a rock, I've dropped it from trees and zip wires multiple times and even though it's got many minor dents around the frame, the screen is perfect and the backs cost about a quid to replace.

that's the thing, I have both 1st gen and 3rd gen moto g and they felt much much better built than that sony z5 compact even tho they cost 3-4x less.

Hi yeh I'm sending it back to Amazon tomorrow .. the finger print scanner is a bit hit and miss too .. I like the size screen quality and battery life is good but when you use the extended battery functions it loses its speed quite significantly
Far better than the moto 3rd generation though

Was tempted by one of these ages ago but the deal breaker is the fact that it doesn't have the 3 capacitive buttons at the bottom. Instead it wastes space by using the horrible 'interactive' ones that eat into the screen area.

I'd have been tempted otherwise as nobody does a decent small phone - even the Chinese cheapo makes.

I have the z5c here and it feels just as solid as the moto g. Maybe the one in the store was just a display model?

Well the extended battery function is going to throttle the CPU massively on any phone. Hence it's going to get very slow.

I don't think any new phone has those buttons. By making them built into the display it can be used for other things as well.

re. the buttons on bottom. One plus x does. And you can also choose to have them on the screen instead.

heat op, now waiting for a good price for the white one (_;)

thank you, my girlfriends z3 compact screen went after taking pictures under water (not advisable), so nice upgrade for her

just bought one for the wife to replace her iphone 4s, she will like the compact size and colour

yes

I love mine.

I forgot to mention , double tap the screen and it wakes up , what more reason do you need to buy this phone.

Xperia z3c. Double tap has been there for almost a couple of years in it.

wife loves the phone, I must say after a few tweaks the battery life is very very good! Camera doesn't disappoint and combined with a £30 128gb microsd card and marshmellow this is a great phone
