How is a phone like this still on the market?

This one should be £10 ....

Really old tech, not even worth 50 quid. Blade Mini Q is much better and can be had for similar price, surprised this is still being sold.

Specs look ok if we travel back to 2011.

It might be cheap, but there are far better phones on the market for a similar price.

Genuine question.
What phones are there availible for a similar price that are better?
Thanks.

As errrr2 says the blade q mini is better specced, its available at argos for £55 but £10 top-up is required, and its lockeed to virgin. Anybody else have any other suggested models?

Good luck running ICS on 512mb of ram

hello
and at £70 the huawei g510 sim free and 4.5inch screen but now it is almost 50%more.
i think the question what is available for £ 50 is a fair question which has not been answered.
when one prices the variables and prices them accordingly values change. the g510 costs 50% more for 4.1and an extra 1/2 of screen space. the moto e 30% more for 4.4 and some extra screen resolution.
what is missing from the question is use. play the latest games? browsing and mailing? skype?
a basic 4" for £50? i use a sony xperia x8 with 2.1? it works for browsing but the screen is only 3" but it cost £5.
i know how the questioner feels.
i read a review of the moto e in which the purchaser thought it over rated, i guess if you ask the wrong person you can get a partial response.

notebookcheck provides a reasonable ( it seems) overview of products. but wont tell you what to buy.

Here are a few phones for under £50 which are similar to the Blade 3, but run either Jelly Bean or KitKat. All have 4" screens with either WVGA of FWVGA resolution.

Plus the Blade Q Mini, which is £60 but includes £10 top-up and has significantly better specs than the Blade 3.

Huawei Ascend Y330 - Is dual core and runs 4.2 Jelly Bean £49 from Asda Direct

Vodafone Smart 4 Mini (Alcatel) - Dual core and runs 4.2 Jelly Bean £45 from Tesco Direct

ZTE Kis 3 - running Android 4.4 KitKat £45 (includes £10 top-up) from Virgin Mobile

ZTE Blade Q Mini - Quad core processor running 4.2 Jelly Bean £59.99 (includes £10 top-up) from Virgin Mobile

Can anyone suggest a budget first phone for a child which has front & rear cameras, can be cheaply unlocked & has some custom ROM development?

Thankyou.
psychoid.

thanks for the choices.
sometimes it comes down to provider and home service.
at 40p per minute or 25p and how much per mb data?
3 offer that 321 deal. so usage in the question.
virgin have that zte l2 £80 5" screen quad core 1gb ram but only 850 screen resolution price of virgin payg is high unlock for £12.
looks ok but unlocked would avoid hassle.
screen resolution, all were happy with the old ipad and the playbook, where resolutions were less than 200ppi.but things move on. all were happy with sd tv until hd.

sorry thats£80plus £10topup so 90

For £50 on the high st unlocked you won't do much better. I bought one when I needed a phone quickly (iphone 5 run over by car, now repaired) but could have quite happily lived with this handset until my upgrade was due in a few months. Takes up to 32gb cards.
