Mobile contract providers tend to increase your monthly tariff by inflation - and exactly which measure depends on the network:

Three: a Fixed Annual Price Change, 4.5% this year.
O2: RPI plus 3.9%.
EE, Vodafone: Consumer Price Index plus 3.9%.

The date of the adjustment also varies by provider:

Three: April
O2: Announced in Feb, effective from April
EE: Announced in Jan, effective from March
Vodafone: Announced in Jan, effective from April

What is Sim only?

SIM only is just that, where you only pay for the minutes, texts, and data you use on your sim-card.

You will have to supply your own device i.e phone/tablet to insert the sim-card into, hence why it's called 'sim only'

I've been pleasantly surprised with Smarty. Unbeatable value and overall decent signal, especially with Wi-Fi calling at home.

My friends were on the 30gb deal on 4g.
Now on 5g with 40gb is hot deal, not a fan of 3 but the launch of smarty has pressured other providers to increase data in their deals which is good for everyone.

Totally agree,I was with 3 for years they used to be great now they're over subscribed by offering cheap deals, making speeds terrible (I know not for everyone) but I wouldn't have stayed even if the offered me it for free

And is clearly stated 5g ready means is not 5g, it will be on 5g when smarty will have access to it but they keeps saying that they will have 5g soon for at least for 1 year but its still in the air.
Yes, articles in the news said that they joined it from today but my phone is telling /showing me different.

Yes good deal if it works well in your area,I suppose you could try it and cancel if it's no good (I still find it hard to recommend the 3 network tho)

3 is no good for me at home, but I used to get good coverage almost everywhere else I visit. I don't like 3 personally but have several friends who are on smarty and they recommend it.

I started a contract with Three, the internet speed was so slow, their customer service is useless, I have tried the speed test in different area accros south of England and South of Wales, wherever I go is so slow.. they tried to keep me after the 14days of trial.. and then on the last day another agent said you can’t cancel because you are out of the testing period, when I showed my anger, they cancelled my contract, I regret leaving EE, now I started wih plusnet which use EE coverage, hopefully the experience will be positive

Why are smarty allowing 5G on selected devices, whereas Three on all 5G capable devices?
  16. Avatar
They literally couldn't even manage 3G properly where I live, had to have an indoor booster at the time... They weren't much better for me outside either come to think of it? Whereas O2/Vody - no problem.

If you can use them, good for you! This is a great deal

    Heated OP.

I could understand if they sold those handsets, but hey ho, they've lost me as a customer.

I’m currently on the existing £10/30gb sim. Is there any way of taking advantage of this offer half way through a month?

I've been with smarty for around 8 months now since moving from EE and haven't looked back. With EE I would always get dropped calls, the speed was terrible and the cost was ridiculous (must be going towards Bacon's wages). With smarty I noticed I have been getting 5G in a few areas since October and they upgraded my area in early December. Speed is amazing and well worth the £10 a month for 30gb I'm on.

I'm not sure sorry, maybe try messaging customer support? When I was with Smarty a while ago they were quite helpful moving me to offers, including new customer offers without fuss when I asked. Best of luck

I'm on Smarty and it's showing that I'm on 5G. I have the Samsung A52s since mid December and I noticed my phone being connected on 5G a few weeks ago. Was using the Pixel 2 before the A52s.

We all use smarty in our house and get the £1 off extra sims deal… it can be patchy but we can live with it. We live in a village on the Suffolk coast, so no chance of 5g for a while…
Was with 3 before hand for years, but never had any issues with signal with them, only changed to smarty from 3 as 3 couldn’t and wouldn’t match the deal.

I'm just outside Wolverhampton towards Telford. I travel into Birmingham a few times a month with work and I don't have any network issues when I'm there. I tried Lebara and Giffgaff but Vodafone and O2 aren't very good around here for my house and got them both to refund my first month as the coverage and speed was terrible.
