Mobile contract providers tend to increase your monthly tariff by inflation - and exactly which measure depends on the network:
Three: a Fixed Annual Price Change, 4.5% this year.
O2: RPI plus 3.9%.
EE, Vodafone: Consumer Price Index plus 3.9%.
The date of the adjustment also varies by provider:

What is Sim only?
SIM only is just that, where you only pay for the minutes, texts, and data you use on your sim-card.
You will have to supply your own device i.e phone/tablet to insert the sim-card into, hence why it's called 'sim only'

Is it the Red plans only that have no speed caps?
I also have not got the "automatic" cashback (I didn't want a higher amount via redemption as I didn't want that hassle) and again, despite a few calls and promises that it would be received "shortly", it has never arrived.
I have absolutely ZERO evidence that I've even taken out any contracts with them, although I clearly have because my VF account shows the new 12 month plan.
Absolutely shocking "service". Now 5 months on, I have NOTHING to show I took out 2 contracts via these cowboys, therefore I also have ZERO proof that I am even due any cashback. I also have not received the auto-cashback that I should have received by now (around £100) and what's sad is that I just can't be bothered to chase it up after the hours I have wasted on the phone with these muppets. But in the long run they have lost me as a returning customer, plus any potential customers that read my experience who decide to go elsewhere.
Proceed at your own risk.
Usually April i think
Having worked for Vodafone I can agree that the "pass the buck" ethic is truly alive and well. As much as I tried to, not many take responsibility for "owning a call" as they like to put it. Cold transferred calls so customers have to explain themselves multiple times to multiple agents. Antiquated software backend that is buggy as hell and dates back to the 1980's. Pretty work buildings and fancy ad campaigns don't make up for KPI pressured staff and bordering on evil Team Managers.
I spent two hours on webchat to them the other night moving a number from Pay Monthly to Pay as you go in preparation for the price increases. Was ready to disconnect my number before someone in Customer Service said they could do what I originally asked in five minutes. For the grand daddy of networks it's a crying shame they treat their customers like crap and don't invest in their own technology when they make so much for their shareholders.
Time to walk away myself. Got my PAC code ready to use. Bye Felicia.
Depends if you want to do a redemption deal or not
Very true. But long gone are the days of having to post your original monthly bills. And e2save actually now remind you when you should be uploading your bills, so it couldn't be easier.
I know, but try telling that to some who just want one low monthly, and maybe getting 100gb for even £3 extra isn't for those who want a low data amount.
I had a very similar experience. In my instance I ordered one sim but they had activated 2 and blamed me for ordering it twice. The thing is, they confirmed that they had only sent one sim out, one welcome email and they couldn't explain it. Multiple phone calls with their teams laughing at me and it decimating my credit score.
Cowboys.
No actually speed is not capped on Basics contracts any more - I think it was October 2019-ish that stopped.
I'm sorry to moan @MrSwitch , but I genuinely dislike how this is posted. Basics must come sooner in the title, no roaming (no matter how much you pay), no 5G, etc. must feature. What does the paragraph on Entertainment & the sentence on 5G add to this post, other than confusing the odd poor sod?
I'm sorry man, but where HUKD has a commercial relationship involved, the advertising standard should be much better.
I do have a dislike of Basics, but could set
that aside if the relevant detail was & irrelevant detail was not included. Posting Basics as on Vodafone is as misleading as posting Voxi as on Vodafone or Smarty as on Three.
Can you get very me rewards from deal, as the website says you do?
That's what I got told by a Vodafone rep when I asked them if they could match it direct.
You can transfer (port) your number over from another network using a PAC code or from Vodafone Pay As You Go. Alternatively, if they allow you to upgrade or downgrade your contract, that's another way to retain your number. Hope that helps.
'No WiFi calling' as in WhatsApp...???
No as in using your home/public wifi for calls/text which is useful in areas of bad signal.
Anyways this is a terrible deal, check out the deals on Lebara posted recently it uses VF network without stupid limits and restrictions.
Never done that, wasn't even aware of it tbh. Ta.
