Argos are offering Argos vouchers when you buy a sim only deal and from what I can see the price is the same as going directly so might be worth a look

Various SIMO deals on offer includes EE, Three, Plusnet, O2 & more

Prices start from as little as £4.99 and include 30 day and 12 montb contracts

I am a low data user and just got a 4g, 1gb data, 1000 minutes and unlimited texts for £5 a month which is ample for my needs with virgin. Then they rang me next day and asked if I was interested in a Samsung s8 for £24 a month for 36 months. When I said why would I want to pay £864 for a phone when I can buy the phone outright for £450 and only pay £60 a year to use it. They promptly said goodbye. Contract deals are a waste of money for low usage users.
If your a low user you cant beat this 1p for everything voice, text and MB. Top up £10 every 4 months, no contract
cancel whenever you want.

The deals are better from the carrier's...
Just compared Plusnet deal and its the same promo offer for 30 day sim on both sites. Only difference is that you get a £10 Argos voucher going via this route.

Definitely a Hot from me.
Amounts are broadly similar to the cashback at TCB or Quidco. Personally I'd prefer cash to a voucher for the same amount.

The deals are all available on the main Argos website.

I had some problems using their app but went straight in using my laptop.

Anybody know if you can take advantage of the 20% employee discount that EE offer for some companies ( Sainsbury's in this case ) if you buy the sim from Argos ?

I don't think so as you have to use that code on the EE website, where as this is through Argos.
I have one with my place of work too, I'm going to try to get a deal when my contract ends, if not I'll use the 20% off a SIM deal

For the ee corporate scheme you need to go direct.

Just ring customer services say that you would like to port you Pay As You Go number to the new EE contract
So does this mean you could buy for example a £5 plan, then after you get the gift card, buy two more £5 plans etc.?
The max evoucher I can see is £80. Not the £100 stated.
what are you all talking about!? The best SIM is ID - 2.25gb for £5k! uswitch.com/mob…BwE Been on it ages. Bought an Iphone 5s for £80 in mint condition on ebay.

Watching friends paying £40 a month etc. is depressing.

FreedomPop £4.00 1 month contract and you get £10 argos voucher

Its 4.99 and you have to have the sim past the 14 day cooling off period before you get sent the voucher so you cannot make £6 profit, when you cancel on day 15 they will tell you 30 days notice to cancel then you will pay another 4.99 15 days later. So pointless only 2p profit unless you actually wanted this sim then the vouchers a bonus

Dont forget your friends will have a much better phone than an iphone 5s and will have probably 10x the data. I just bought a galaxy s9 dual sim for 739 cash then got a sim for £20 a month divide that over 24 months and its £50 a month, and on contract its 50 odd a month with one of the cheaper networks so only a few quid difference so its not like your mates are wasting loads of money.

Yee gads man....you can buy a global version xiomi m1a1 dual sim network free 64 gig for about 160 squid. Why would you ever pay 700 quid for a phone. That's just mental...lol.

Reviews seem very negative.

Lots of warnings not to use them under any circumstances.

I bought a FreedomPop phone when I was working in the USA and they used underhand tactics. Phone plan was actually activated when it shipped and it wasn't made clear that the free plan meant you'd actually signed up to a monthly billing scenario... If you go down that route, I'd make sure you go over the fine print.

Probably not as Argos will be just acting as an introducer to the network.
The most I see is £80
i signed up for an £8 plusnet sim offer via this on 20 February. I have not £20 voucher yet. Anyone know who I contact to chase this up.
I had the £17 one from EE, called them to say the same deal was £10 on 3 and they price matched there and then after I had already bought it. Worth a try if you on more expensive.

Hi droid.

I signed up too in January and received my voucher around 5 weeks later direct from Argos.

I didn't claim anything or fill out any forms it just arrived in my inbox.

You get what you pay for but thats not to say its a good deal. I think galaxy s9 should be more like 499 new but so long as people like me buy them they can charge what they want lol, but xiami m1a1 no good it dosnt have nfc so if i forget my bank card i cant buy anything it dosnt have wireless charging and most importantly it dosnt have fast charge which i couldnt live without theres a tonne of other stuff like processor efficiency, lower resolution, no iris scanner to make payments ect... the list goes on. My work involves me using my phone for many aspects of my job so having the fastest most efficient phone available is a must

Would be absolutely perfect if the international rates were reasonably priced compared to the likes of Lyca and Lebara mobile.

Don't know about the other stuff but processer efficiency on £700 phones is definitely nothing to shout about. I charge my Xiaomi every 2 days & I do browse a lot on it where as other Samsung & iPhone users are charging twice a day.

The processor in the s9 is the most efficient to date so that dosnt make sense, your xiami probably has the processor used in an older samsung or something similar so thats a daft idea. The reason the battery goes fast is the extra bright screen. s9 has brightest screen available at 1130 nits ( may be wrong )high resolution high processing speeds tonnes of extra hardware like iris scanning face recognition nfc ect ect if you put my processor in your phone then it would last even longer realisticly so you are wrong oh and im a really heavy user and get a full day before i charge

I have the brightness on my Xiaomi at about 25%. So the extra bright screen on the Samsung isn't really needed unless we live in a sunny country more nearer the equator.
