Sim only deals - Engaget list of best (current) UK sim deals

Found 28th Jul 2015
Engadget have compared all of the plans available directly from Three, O2, Vodafone, EE, GiffGaff, BT, iD, Tesco Mobile, Asda Mobile and Virgin Media based on current pricing.

Might be useful to anyone looking for a sim only deal.

Thanks.

Would be better if they included information on tethering policy for each if those deals.

Doesn't mention Talk Talk sim only deal,
£12 p/m - 30 day rolling contract
unlimited calls,text,data(3g)

You have to be an existing customer for this SIM

not bad

ahh yeah ,just seen that

I may be missing something but I don't really understand the appeal of the three sim plans i.e the cheapest monthly sim only plan with all you can eat data is a 12 month contract at £17pm, on a 1 month rolling plan it's £20 but on PAYG it's a £15 add on?

I don't think tethering is available on PAYG, but it is if you're on a contract.

About time someone made this post!

Please add if they allow tethering? If unlimited is really unlimited if not what is the cap on (min/text or data)
4G or 3G

If its any supermarket's please state which network do they use?

I'm getting 23gb of 4G plus unlimited calls & texts from EE for £25 per month on a 12 month SIM only contract. the first 6 months were half price too. Been on this for the past 9 months.

You realise this is a list provided by Engadget, one of the largest tech blogs on the internet. It's not one being provided by members of the site doing the leg work. If you've got issues with their information that's supplied then posting here will cause nothing to change. You will need to post in their comments section if you feel they should provide other information because posting on HUKD will achieve nothing.

Surprised it doesn't mention the Post office (EE) £10 bundle - 2GB Data, 500 mins and 3000 texts. 30 day rolling contract.

I am currently with Vodafone paying £13.50 with 4gb 4g data, unlimited mins, text, 6 month entertainment package. Anyone suggest something similar as my contract is running out in a couple of months?

And the point of your post?
That deal won't be on Engadget list because you must have got it for a retention deal in other words its not on EE website so anyone can buy it.

You can tether 4GB a month on PAYG

Check mpd as well for cashback deals and Quidco etc etc 10gb unl everything else EE works out at £15 a month after cashback 12 month contract

Anyone can suggest me a PAYG deal for iPad exclusively?

As far as I know 321 from three probably the best however it does not support iPad, though tried many ways to bypass it.

I understand data can be tethered from phone but sometimes you don't have that much battery...

looks like anyone still on £12 unltd data 200mins three deal should never change

I'm voting cold because it's a pretty crap report, doesn't even include the Three all in one 15 unlimited data sim only deal. What else is missing.

any suggestions on the best deal/network if you want unlimited data and tethering?
was on 3 Mobile's excellent £15/month deal (inc. 4G/unlimited data/tethering) til they kicked everyone off that at Xmas

I think the benefits are when you renew as well as being sim only and they don't charge extra for 4g. Friend pays £9 a month unlimited everything. I'll be joining 3g too when ee contract is up, horrible company though a decent parting gift of 5 free power bars and counting is a nice gesture (_;)

Fails to mention that Virgin is on 3G not 4G

Can soneone enlighten me to how companies can tell if you've been tethering or not? I don't think i'm supposed to do it on giffgaff but have no problem doing so

hukduserr

if i were TT customer, i would go for that

But remember it is only 3g and on Vodafone.

The MoneySuperMarket website is much better in my opinion and shows all sim only plans with cashback available.

For TT customers, £3.95 per month for 250 minutes & 250 texts per month and 300MB of data seems pretty good.
