Agreed and trying to leave is like trying to leave the mafia.....they dont let you go without a fight, to the point where its quite desperate.

I will give them that when you do get a good signal it has one of the best speeds, just try getting it lol
53 days till I get rid of them .Horrendous service!
Cracking deal. Those who say the signal is bad have probably just lost the postcode lottery. They'll never do well in very remote areas as they don't have a 2g network, but I've never had an issue with the rest of the country personally.

Free roaming in US/Aus etc is great too (although I agree not too useful currently...)

Thinking about getting this for my teenage daughter, she's currently on BT, I'm on Three.
Only thing that puts me off Three (signal is fine for me) is that the lowest amount you can cap non-contract calls, texts etc. at is £10. BT it is £2.50.

Bit of a glaring hole in my opinion.

Must be quite variable then, i.e. what retention target the helpdesk droids have been given at any particular point. I've left and returned a few times and never had an issue.

I thought there was a new thing now where you could just text all the cellcos if out of contract and get an immediate PAC?

Possibly but when ive rang for pac codes ive had to hang up on them and ring back as they just wouldn't take no for an answer
I have seen 3 mobile deals the last few days on hot deals where if you go through the cashback route it makes it roughly £4 / £5 per month for the same deal
Can I use this if I already have an out of contract SIM with Three?

123 days here. Who's counting??
Get your PAC code by texting PAC to 65075 then use that to port your number to your new provider and your account will automatically be closed without the need to even contact 3 customer services. Need to be at end of your contract or you'll have to pay a fee, think it's the cost of remaining months of your contract.

By contrast both my mobile and home 4G broadband are with them and both are spot on. YMMV.
I haven't had any really problems with coverage, plus free calls from abroad is very useful.
Only issue is they've put prices up

Likewise (mobile anyway). Got 4/5 of our household on "3", the other on VOXI due to iPhone locked to Vodafone.

No issues with signal, plus usage abroad (well, OK that was in the past, maybe not needed so much these days).
Location SE England.

On £8pm for 8Gb, u/l calls and texts and roaming.

You can leave and obtain the PAC by sending a text PAC with your date of birth to 65075 and you’ll receive it immediately.

I’ve just done it myself last week.

I joined Three on this tariff but paying £10 per month via TopCashback. Cracking deal at £8 per month.

Poor bugger that's 4 months of rubbish!
I've been with 3 for the last ten years and up until getting the 4G router 12 months ago never had any issues. The router was fine until 2 months ago and for some unknown reason it consistently drops the signal especially when watching any kind of Sky Sports programmes. Phoned CS and have been appalled by the lack of courtesy, and this was before the pandemic. I gave up after 3 hours (over 3 days) trying to rectify. I have now gone back to fibre broadband and have no issues. Unfortunately I am in a two year contract with 3 so will have to take it on the chin until the contract ends but I would never recommend them again after my experience
I was on this at £14.35pm had email saying it’s going up to £16 next month , used live chat and got it reduced to £8 as long standing cus

They wouldn't do it for me, so I left for GiffGaff and have ordered the £4 per month SIM, which I will transfer my number to. Don't know why they're so silly to be honest, they've lost revenue - I'd have been happy with the £8 per month deal.
I had been a happy Three customer for several years, paying £8 a month for 4GB of data. They cancelled that rate and put me on something like £14 a month for 4GB. I then got around to leaving them (quick and easy with a text to get the PAC), joined Lebara for a month, noticed that voicemail was an extra, and then looked to join Three again. Yesterday, I checked and the rates would been £15 again.

Instead I went for 30GB for £10 a month on a 30 day contract from Smarty. smarty.co.uk/pla…ata
It uses the Three network, includes roaming to the places in Europe I need, I can use the data for tethering abroad and voicemail is included. They say they don't throttle bandwidth. It doesn't include 4G calls or wifi calling, but those don't bother me
I got the Three 'mispriced' £10 a month for unlimited everything 24 month deal that was on here last year and my signal has been excellent at home BUT even though I get a full 5 bars of 4G signal my internet speeds are disgusting and quite often below 0.4Mbps, as a comparison I've also been using a Voxi (run by Vodafone) unlimited everything £10 no contract sim and my speeds are 40+ Mbps on only 3 bars of signal.
I use the Voxi for my main house internet and calls in a Huawei router and the Three sim is in my mobile phone were fast internet isn't as important.

Not Hard to leave you don't even need to talk to them just Text if you leave by moving your number to another network so simple to do now.

I had to leave Smarty and moved to Sky Mobile due to poor call quality, at times when I am out and about I can't hear other person on the line or there is a slight delay before I hear the other person but network coverage and data speed was very good for where I live

I think Smarty doesn't have access to full bands/frequencies like Three same as most of MVNOs

Smartys 30gb plan still a very good deal I would say to everyone try it out maybe Smarty is going to work out for you

got to be worth a stab at that

How would I do this out of contract last September and got a price match now just got email saying 30 days then moving me onto standard contract. Port out to someone else then back in

Yes, that’s correct.

But I think the poster wanted to allow their child to have some spend, in case of emergency, but not to run it up to £10 per month. I may be wrong.

£2.50 isn’t going to get you very far in the mobile world. But yes you are correct, I didn’t read it fully. Apologies

You are correct of course. What I actually meant was that you could have a £0 cap but next option was £10 unlike BT who are more granular.

Thanks just did that while waiting all gone through and happy
Can’t see the link to the £8 a month plan on the three site posted above, have three changed the price?
This is a cracking deal if you live in an area with good reception for Three.

12 GB a month for £8/month + £31.87 TCB cashback (for standard non-Plus TCB members) = £5.34 a month!
£31?
i got £37 this morning on it
Tracking from tcb came back at £35 not £37
