Does that mean they are good, average, poor?
Sorry but this just looks so bland and boring.
Cheap wooden slats wont last very long.
Now this is the fair price for the bed. Any further discount on this price would be a hot deal.
Good price but it's not 55% off - it's only £399 on the simba website for the King Size. That's 35% off.
Super king OOS
Simba mattress is very good. I had 4 mattresses in 2 years before I got this- including some very expensive brands.
I’ve got the mattress at the moment but it’s going back at 100 days, nowhere near worth the £800 price tag
Takes about 30-60 days or so for your body to adjust to the matress, I definitely fall asleep faster with Simba, just waiting on the pillows to reduce in price
Creaks terribly.
those wooden pieces will come off in no time

not worth it

Agree. At first I thought 'meh not much difference' but going back to a regular bed you really notice the difference.

Yes I absolutely agree. There's a chap saying that it's not worth the £800 price tag but I paid an eye-watering £2,500 before that for a mattress that's pants (no idea what I'd been smoking that day).

The sad thing is that it's subjective, and something you get used to over time, which means you might well end up trying lots before you find one you like. The bad mattress I bought was from Dreams I think, and they have a 'sample mattress' where they let you sample different firmnesses. Made absolutely no difference :-D I'd take these 100 night trials any day of the week.

That said this is a deal about a bed frame. Personally I think it looks awful - very cheap looking and a bit too modern for me, but the Simba mattress is very light and it looks to me like it's built specifically to set the mattress into, which might be a plus point for some :-)

Good deal in any case, so heat!

I love the fact that you’re still keeping it for the full 100 days first!
It makes me laugh when people want a £800 product for £1. I have the super king mattress. It is outstanding and WELL worth the money. For those who want something for nothing (Corbynites as I like to call them), maybe realise that you get what you pay for?!

what exactly is "premium" about this bed? its almost identical to numerous other £200-£250 beds bar very slight differences in headboards and leg placement.
Having a standard product that is well marketed and wildly marked up in price to start with so it can be marked down to give the impression its a "bargain" does NOT make it premium ...it makes it a marketing ploy

all the "premium" mattress companies like simba that sell almost identical mattresses ( eve /jaspar / bill/ ted/ john/dick/harry )sell an almost identical bed frame...

"you get what you pay for" is a complete fallacy in this example, only people who resort to that are those sorts at parties who bore you by telling you how much they paid over the top for their plain white tshirt with a designer label..oh buy sofas in that one week a year there isn't some sort of sale on
You can get identical beds for £150 on eBay new.
What's so good about this?
The mattress is good but the bed frame looks basic and cheap yet overpriced
Edited by: "hukdm" 9th Oct 2018
At the end of the day its much cheaper (check camelcamelcamel.co.uk) than RRP, if you don't like it don't buy it, the people on here complaining about price remind me that some people can't see the quality difference, they see a dyson and can't understand why it costs more than their vax, they both do the same job in their minds, guess they'll never know.

What do we owe you for your marketing insights - you must have a MBA from INSEAD - you clearly know it all!I can assure you Mr Keyboard Warrior- someone like you probably wouldn’t even get invited to the party!

My marketing insights are free, so is google I suggest you try " grey fabric bed frame" as a starting point.

and no I don't have "one" if you're referring to that bed frame , I prefer not to kit my bedroom out so it resembles a stock sell off sale from a premier inn. If you mean the mattress, nope don't have one of those either I don't like memory foam mattresses.

As for your keyboard warrior comment, could I suggest if you're of the disposition that a snidey but factually accurate reply to your overtly defensive and wholly uncalled for politicised reply "triggers" you...then maybe replying to posts on a public forum isn't your forte or calling in life?

End of the day I made a comment that was my opinion ,and then subsequently justified why i hold that opinion sorry if you find that too much to deal with . It's been cool but i'm off now to chant "ohhh jeremy corbyn" at my pretentious neighbours till they call the police again toodles x
People talking porkies in this post. Because a mattress looks like another one doesn’t make it ‘identical’.

theres differences between all these mattresses; some are pure foam. Some have coiled springs, some have both.

We have an Ikea one atm and my girlfriend can’t stand it.
This bed won’t be able to handle fun night not for me
Looks similar to this, only 4 times more expensive

Can confirm those mattresses are well worth the money. Customer service is excellent as well.

As for the Corbyn comment, everytime I read those comments it seems to be from middle aged people who finished their education without being in debt for thousands of pounds, who managed to live quite well whilst earning minimum wage, managed to buy property on reasonable salaries and who have retired or soon will with great pensions. Of course now, we wouldn't want the next generations to have to live an easier life than us or even an equally easy life as we did, that would be totally unfair.
The worst base to go with a memory foam mattress. Go for a flat base divan or thick wooden base. After a few months the mattress will sag both sides over the middle strut. Bad advice and stupid price for something you can pick up for less than £100 elsewhere.

I know it’s personal preference but they are quite firm. I’m also not a fan of any mattress that can be rolled up!
user.name15 h, 21 m ago

Creaks terribly.

I’ve currently got a Silent Knight divan bed and they are replacing the base on Sunday because it creaks really bad. I’m actually upset about it, for the money it’s not worth it, it’s anything but silent!!! My partner hates the mattress as well, we had a cheaper chunky framed bed before with wooden slats and it was so much better! We have had the bed 2 years now and I’m struggling to come to terms with the fact that I need to buy another bed ideally

There’s two types of firmness to choose from, what’s wrong with rolling a mattress? It’s only rolled to fit into a car
Go and buy the bed and join the dark side... next thing you know you’ll be doing the robot dance like our darling PM! Enjoy

It's not about the actual frame of the bed - it's about the slats. The fact that listing doesn't show the slats shows how great that base is going to be!
Just look at the ikea website - you can chose 3 different slats for both bed frames, increasing in price.
I can't comment on whether the Simba one is worth it but you can't compare it with a frame that just looks similar in colour and material. It's like saying one red car is the same as another.

Is that from experience Gary? I'm wondering if it's a simba-specific thing or if you mean all beds of this design have a short life?
I've had this bed for a couple of months now..I really like it. Its really sturdy, doesn't creak, and looks great.

The sprung slats on the Simba are laminated and closely spaced- I don't see these cracking easily . If they were flat solid pine I'd have a concern - they're not.

The kingsize bed base I have is coupled up with an Emma mattress and fits perfectly.
