Is this coming to the Mac?

Is this coming to the Mac?

Yes see quote below
We’ve got good news for people who want to play the new SimCity with friends on a different platform. The game’s developer, Maxis, announced that a Mac version is coming out this spring. But that’s not all; Maxis also revealed that PC and Mac gamers can play together on the same map.

SimCity for Windows will be hitting stores on March 5, so it’s a shorter wait for Windows users. It’s taking some time for Maxis to ship the Mac version, which will only be available as a digital download, as the developer is working on a full native version as opposed to a mere port of the game for the operating system. When it comes out, anyone who has a Mac with at least a Core 2 processor running Snow Leopard can play the game. Unfortunately, Maxis has yet to reveal more concrete details about the Mac version, so we’ll likely hear more as we get closer to the projected release date.

job done :-)
£29.99 at Tesco with code:…747

Even if it's "in stock" (which it isn't, as it only went gold last week) you won't be able to play it before March 8th (UK) as it's online-tethered and that's when the game goes live. The persistent online connection requirement is a serious weakness though, it already scuppered their first beta test; there's another beta this Saturday, so we'll see if it's improved...
Still far to expensive for a game, console owners may be happy paying this sort of price, but PC games don't have the licence fee addons to excuse the price bump, this is just the publishers being greedy.
Does this not put your save games to the cloud? Thus meaning you can't play it offline? I love the Sim City's but won't be getting this one due to that fact, what happens when they turn off the servers? You no longer have a playable game....
Correct, you can't play offline at all, and if your internet connection (or their servers) drop-out mid-game then you are immediately disconnected.

Also, because of global leaderboards, you can't re-load an old save game - so the joy of unleashing a disaster for a laugh (and then returning to the previous save) is gone. That's progress
you can play offline for a short time if you drop connection and I'm sure someone will come up with a way round it ;-)
also last time I used Tesco it came 3 days after. release I'd rather spend the extra few pence
