The defining city simulation is back! Create the city you desire and make the choices that shape your city and power the Sims within it. Every decision, big or small, has real consequences. Invest in heavy industry and your economy will soar—but at the expense of your Sims’ health as pollution spreads. Implement green technology and improve your Sims’ lives while risking higher taxes and unemployment. Team up with your friends to solve global challenges: launch a space shuttle, reduce carbon emissions, or build magnificent wonders. Compete on global and regional leaderboards to be the richest, the dirtiest, the happiest or the best place to visit!

Constructible Worlds — Creative and customizable world that offers unique gameplay benefits, all with a fun tactile interface.
Sims Matter — The Sims in your city speak to you directly and it’s up to you to respond to their needs. Will you listen and be the toast of the town? Or abuse your power for fame and fortune?
Specialize in What You Love — Mold your city as a casino resort, manufacturing hub, educational enclave, and more, and then watch as a unique look and feel spread throughout your city.
Multiplayer — Build a region with friends for the first time! Collaborate or compete in regional and global challenges and make decisions that impact the greater SimCity World.
GlassBox Engine — SimCity introduces GlassBox, the revolutionary simulation technology that gives you the power to impact individual Sims lives, manage city level simulation, and balance multiple city simulations at once.

Pretty sure offline mode is due to be released imminently, amongst other fixes.

Do people think this is worth 12 of my Great British Pounds?

Still not worth it, Ive only heard bad things about this game, too small city sizes, terrible traffic AI, having to rely on other players making good nearby cities to make your city better (or worse)... At least it wasn't as bad as the butchering Dungeon Keeper got...

Hopefully the offline mode will redeem this game a little, and to think that they said that offline mode would be 'impossible' to do. Makes you wonder just how bad this game has to be doing if they're attempting to achieve the 'impossible'.

Have some heat! Been wanting this one cheap for ages.

I read about this offline fix, months ago.
Have they even posted a date for the release or is it a case of ... "we intend to release it, eventually....maybe...if the stars align".

Seriously considering this now. I was after it before release but the fallout from the release fiasco had put me off until now.

Shame it's not steam, hate having all these different clients

One for Rayman, one for Sim City and one for Civilization xD

Yep and about time too. Should be in the next update.

I got this for free from origin after the Societies suddenly stopped working via origin and they were clueless as to why, I had a huge battle with them as they kept telling me "not compatible with windows 7", (or the other line was, uninstall, download it again and re-install.... like that was going to work the 4th time around?) well that's funny... it worked before. In the end, I fought with them so much they sent me a copy of societies on disk (which funnily enough, just worked) and on release day, they sent me the delux version of this too

Is it only the Mac version? I loved Sim City on my SNES back in the day but found the later versions too complicated. Can I download it for a Windows 7 laptop please?

Thank you very much.

Thanks! Was kicking myself for not getting it at Game.co.uk a few days ago for £14.99, it's gone back up now :). It's 8% Cashback from Quidco as well isn't it? Fantastic.

It's fantastic and I recommend people to ignore any /complaints/. Server issues fully resolved. The smaller maps force specialization and that's fantastic as an idea, not a restriction.

Still can't decide...I have been considering getting this for ages but there are so many horrible reviews. I watched a few videos on YouTube and it looks really good but all the people shouting about how horrible it is must have a basis for saying so, right?

Bought this last night, however my order is still 'under review'.

Annoying!

I'd contact them mate, I just bought it and got the download and key immediately

Only ever played the SNES one, so frustrating expanding one square at a time, and then comes along godzilla to do a spot of freelance bulldozing, cheers mate.

Still rubbish. I've had it since launch day and even though some issues are resolved, traffic AI is still utterly useless. As soon as you've fully grown a city, expect it to grind to a halt. I've looked online for solutions and have yet to find a way of planning my city to avoid this issue.

Too much frustration to make it a fun game for me.

Decent game, the only downside for me is the tiny city size.

Having literally bought it 48 hours ago I would say it is worth it for this price, but no more. The game seems limited, almost like it is a demo version, city size is very small, I almost feel like there is nothing left to do already, no real longevity to the game. That being said, once you get into it, you can lose 5 or 6 hours of your life a little too quickly.

Just looked, there's a mod to build outside the city, and the traffic is fixed, I remember those were the only two bits I didn't like when I tried it ages ago, so I'm gonna guess it's improved a little :P

Well at least it didn't break you SNES. I left mine on all night and the video output went. Worse still the console wasn't even mine! But the music, I can still hear that beautiful music.

X) Completed my install at 11pm last night, next thing I know it's 3am. I really like it. It's a lot easier to get going compared to previous Sim City's (or is it Sim Cities? Who cares!) but suspect there'll be a challenge in developing regions into sky scraper laden fancy looking cities.

oh NUTS!! I've been wanting this for ages, saw this, got excited but price has gone back up to £29.99
Wondering if i should buy the 4.99 expansion pack just so I have it.

Expired

Took a while to find a working mod once I got it working, but this works fine, it's a basic tutorial (worth watching the first bits so you don't mess up your city) with a download link - youtube.com/wat…Ul8
