Doesn't auto play videos. Cold

I see that as a bonus personally.

I use Facebook lite but I'll give this a go.

Just tried this -it's brilliant!! Thanks op.

Blocks adverts, doesn't need separate messenger app, and can make Most Recent my default news feed? I'm in! Cheers

Cheer OP.

seems to use a little more data than fb lite but obviously much less than standard Facebook app. Probably a nice compromise.

After Swipe being sold I moved to Friendly .

does this need the FB app to be installed as well?

Just use the mobile page and then switch to desktop page to view messages. Why you need to install an app unless your addicted to Facebook and need notifications is something i just don't get

Or better still just dont install it or look at it full stop unless you wear knickers

If this works independently of the proper facebook app will have to give it a try as the FB app on my device always pops up unfortunately facebook has stopped have had to resort to browsing in Opera which is annoying if you click a link open a new tab then go back to FB the page auto refreshes

Me too, first thing I turn off

Only 1000 downloads and 598 ratings. I'll wait before handing out my social media login and access to all my details...

Lol

No voice/video calls from messenger's tab in this app?
Edited by: "mtodak" 16th Apr

I'm enjoying this app. I've found some bugs that I passed on and they've been resolved.
Just discovered one this morning as well... I've got sounds turned off for notifications but sound still plays.

Also, if you want to share a photo you need to take the photo first. You can't access your camera from the app.

If you use Facebook marketplace then this isn't yet included either.

Much smaller in size than the facebook app, nicer to look at and smoother to run.

For those slating Facebook ,some of us use it for the pages. For example, I'm a freelance photographer so it comes in handy for showcasing my work.

Aww... missed it. It's now back to £2.39 price

I'm using now using this but with the official Facebook Messenger Lite app for messages, because there's a noticeable delay in message delivery when using third party messenger apps.

£2.39 now!, missed it, sod it!. :-(

Oh well?.

Hopefully another time/day, or whatever?, lol. :-)

Uninstalling the FB right now!
Does this use less resources compared to the native FB app?

Still using this app from the last time it was free :-) Love the fact I don't get to see the Marketplace cr*p any more and the messages are right there in the app, hot from me

Im using an normal S7 Edge (not rooted) I just uninstalled updates and disabled the app...so technically not fully installed

Thank you OP. I think I'm going to like this a lot more than Metal.

What's wrong with Metal? Paid version, obv's

Original Poster

I've tried Metal, Folio, Swipe, Facebook Lite and more I can't remember the names of right now. This is easily the best one in my opinion.

Just had a play. Initial impressions are great. Much better than folio, & obv miles better than the official app. Not least because it doesn't drain your battery!
