any comment? need to buy one.
new to drilling. never used it before
Have one of these and it works well. For the price it's ok for diy. It's nothing fancy but makes holes in our ridiculously hard walls so a good budget buy.
cheers op, I need a corded drill for wire brushing various bike bits, frames etc that I'm restoring. My 18v cordless Makita kit is not so good for this.

would be perfect for you. comes with a masonry drill bit common 6mm.
I have this, it's...a drill. Coped well making holes in brickwork recently, chuck not the best quality, but then it's...£11.99!
Can't really go wrong at this price.
really ? I needed to drill into a metal lintel yesterday. would this do the job ?

Are you sure? What if it blows up in your face? That would be really wrong...
I own one, love it!

How much patience do you have?

Drill will probably handle it , the drill bits not so much (I wiped out 5 of them the other weekend trying & failed - hit a hard piece) . I personally prefer a drill with torque settings (for screwdriving) but this is a bargain .
is this a 'funny' drill, I wonder?
hmm this or the bosch from the other day, probably not as good but then again could buy 7 of them for the same price lol
Bought one a week ago. Packs no punch at all. Struggled drilling four holes in external brickwork using Bosch drill pieces. Avoid.

Silly comment. It's a normal 500w mechanical hammer drill. Lightweight and fine for what it's intended for, which is not for example drilling 1/2" holes in concrete. Bit like complaining your 8oz hammer wasn't up to smashing up your patio.

Not that silly comment really, when you state it's fine for what it's intended for, which part of is drilling masonry, it doesn't do it very well, in my opinion, sorry my comment brings you even less satisfaction than I got from this drill.

Got my one from Argos, last year at a tenner. The first time I used it, sparks came from the side vents oO (for all of the 2 minutes it was used), so I returned it for replacement.

The fuss free replacement is fine, and handy (for me) to have it to drill pilot holes, where the MAIN drill is ready to drill the main hole, so (with a cordless screwdriver) speeds up my jobs
