"A perfect blend of active ingredients and multi-vitamin goodness"

I love the way they describe products like this. It's obviously been past the lawyers.

"active ingredients" = substances that actually do something (it's a moisturiser, so the oils that moisturise your skin)

So "active ingredient and..." means "things that actually do something and some other things that are there for no reason at all but we can put it on the label and you'll believe they have purpose"

As the original concept/marketing strategy behind Simple was that they took out all the things that weren't needed (colours, perfumes) so that you were less likely to be allergic and if you want to smell nice too you can buy perfume/aftershave. But they couldn't find some unnecessary ingredients to put back in it.

I quite like Simple products (partly 'cos having a bottle of moisturiser with SIMPLE MEN in big letters on it amuses me - I'm easily entertained) and partly 'cos I'd rather smell of something other than moisturiser but this is cynical marketing.

But it's cheap so who cares?

Brialliant, I always use simple as anything else brings me out in a rash. I will be stocking up today. Thanks a lot OP.
