Not great reviews on this.

We've had the silver 40L in our kitchen for a couple of years now and it's as good as the day I bought it. As bins go, it's fantastic. Always had Brabantia in the past, but this is far better. Holds lots, stays clean, easy to empty (lid stays up) and the pedal works great. Bags aren't particularly cheap, but worth it for me. Would buy another in an instant.

Had one of these in grey for years. Great for using for recyclables rather than going out to the bin constantly. Not sure it's great for using as a standard waste bin though.

That's exactly what I'm thinking of getting this for. Main bin for general rubbish, recyclables into this and then sort each time it's full.

Just received two grey ones yesterday, the footprint of the base is narrow and I could see it wobbling a bit. The lid hit the wall behind it when I tested it in situ.

That said I've just ordered two black ones at this price.

Mines doesn't wobble; it's quite light, so can move when it's empty. I only have to move mine away from the wall for emptying since the lid doesn't touch the wall with normal pedal use.

I've got this bin in silver. Had it for a couple of years. Great bin.

Can I use normal bin liners from Morrisons or so for this bin? Or it has to be custom simplehuman ones?

I've got a simplehuman bin but a more squarer shape. Had it a few years now.
Only bad thing I can say about it is the 'chrome' looking handle on top is not chrome but painted in a chrome effect so after it's been cleaned a fair few times looks a bit faded and naff. Apart from that all good.

4.5 stars! It's a bin!!

Have had this bin for 7 years and it's still going strong, pedal has never broke and it still slow-closes. The lock is great to stop nosey dogs but my toddler figured it out after seeing us use it. This bin is an indestructible beast.

i bought 2 of these a few months ago, one didn't even have the lid with it, felt very flimsy, so flimsy that when pressed pedal the whole bin fell forward, sent them back as i also prefer bins to have an inner bin so theres no sign of bin bag hanging over

This deal is rubbish

Bought a black one of these years ago (for recycling rubbish) from B&Q for about £20 and its lasted really well, and basic black liners fit it fine.

Love simplehuman bins. I don't have this model but have had my round pedal one for around 4 years and still looks like new. Heat added

So.... you've bought 4 in total?

Yup, I'll return 2

We’ve had one these for the last 8 years as it stops our Retriever getting into the bin. The fringe benefit was that it also stopped the kids getting into the bin as well.

We’re on our third one now as the last two have broken in the same place - one of the bits that holds the pedal mechanism has snapped. That said, they’ve lasted 4 years each as we’ve just replaced it during the Amazon Warehouse clearance. I also like that the bags now come up on the Dash button as well.

Had these, absolute rubbish, can't believe how overpriced they are. The silver finish rubbed off the front making them look really tatty within a very short time (i.e. less than a couple of months) and you are forced to buy their overpriced liners if you don't want the bins to look messy. Avoid.

I have had this bin for a year now and is great so far! Much easier for tipping things in rather than a circular pedal bin

Got the butterfly steel bin from B&Q for £50 a couple years ago, they really are awesome bins

I have this bin and another SimpleHuman chrome round bin. Both going strong after a number of years.

Simplehuman is better than Brabantia and at much lower prices.

I bought a similar bin a couple of weeks ago from Wilko for £7.

£23.99 for a bin that basically locks is in no way a deal in my eyes.

Next time buy from Amazon themselves not a Marketplace seller as they usually sell ake cheap and nasty for the same money, there are thousands caught like you everyday on that marketplace

Tell that to my Brabantia untensil set thats still going strong after 29 years, bet yor bin won't be around for that long

Usually its the fridge they are trying to get into...They hit the bin, you hit the fridge, sounds like a win win to me

Amazing bin, and amazing customer service from simple human too.

Had this one for 2 or 3 years. No problems. No need to buy their expensive bags - 40L ones from supermarkets are fine and that's when we are not using the perfectly sized free ones charities keep poking through our letter-box!

I would expect Utensils to last longer then a bin anyway. Not sure about untensils though, whatever they are.

Exactly my thought too!
Give that man a clap for actually using his brain unlike most that come on here, that buy expensive bags and then moan!

Love this brand, I’ve got the wider one that I got in Range about 6 months ago? Was on promo at £24, I love it (as much as one can love a bin?!)

You could always just put that on the doorstop, I’m sure it costs charities to produce the bags. How thoughtless.

It’s not a charity that produces the bags. Read the next one that comes through the door and 9 times out of 10 it’s a company who say they’ll donate a portion of their profits to the charity that’s plastered all over the bag.

On that basis I never put anything in these bags and just keep hem to use them, plus if anyone wants to spend money to push things through my door that I haven’t asked for then why shouldn’t I keep them
