Thanks op. Worked for me. Love simply cooks meals.

fireman1

Amazing. They happily make it better value if you tell them it's not good value. Not sure what that says about the original price.

Gozer

Thanks OP. I think it worked for me. I can't seem to find confirmation in the My Account section. Will this also apply 1 off boxes or boxes shipped early?

I don't know if this is a deal as such, but I've just been on this site and an offer popped up for £3 for my first trial box. This is a subscription service which you can cancel o… Read more

Some may have but I got 60% off my first two boxes. Then I got my in laws to set up and account and using my referral code I ordered two more boxes at 50% off. That gave me a £15 referral which I used against another box. I then got £5 off for a broken vegetable they sent and ordered another. And the 5th box on my account was free. As is everyone’s. I’ve paused my account for now.

I haven't so it wouldn't be fair for me to make a comparison. However, are you not overpaying for the basic, easily sourced, ingredients? Also, with fresh food, i prefer to inspect it before i buy. That's why i go to the local markets rather than do online food shopping.

joxeruk2000

Have you ever used Gousto before? I found them to be very good. You get everything you need. Out of 28 recipe cards I’ve had. About 24 are ones I’ll use again and already have done many times.

Master.G

If anyone wants to try a box for just £1, PM me and i can give you a code.

Master.G

I have been using these for a couple of months and am very pleased with them. I consider myself more than an average cook and am capable of Googling recipes. But that's not what it is about. What has put me off experimenting with more exotic dishes in the past is the requirement to 'add 1/3 tsp of sulphated Balinese crushed cuckoo egg shells'. When you can only buy it by the kilo and it has a shelf life of one week. Simply Cook provide all the herbs, spices and pastes you need already blended for you. You would be buying the main ingredients anyway (unless you live of takeaway/frozen food). It allows you to produce wonderful restaurant quality dishes such as Peruvian chicken or Iranian vegetable stew for just a pound or two more than your run of the mill chicken or vegetable dish.

I buy my spices in bulk and whole from continental shops, which are very cheap compared to supermarkets, I get about a kilo of each, curry powder, cumin, corriandee, whole spices etc, for £1.99 and I grind enough for a month as I prefer a fresh aroma. These people are milking you for £8.99

jackiekeith

thanks!

Heated good deal. Had some really good experiences with Graze before so more than willing to try more of these kinds of 'delivered meals/snacks' deals...

When I checked it is £4.50 for the trial and so £3.50 you would have after getting the Quidco cashback. Quidco states that it is the first full price box. So would you still be able to claim that from Quidco. Thanks OP as I never heard of SimplyCook until now.

markiedon

How do you get it for £1? If you go through quidco it's 50% of so £4.50 instead of £8.99. Still a good deal but not £7 profit.

Sammykate

Heat added although I'm already a subscriber. I love these kits or 'the boxes' as my partner calls them. He gets very excited if I tell him tonights meal is from the boxes! Very easy to unsubscribe but they are so good you may just want to keep it going :)

I signed up but didn't order and got offered via email a few days later a box for £1 using code EMAIL4

fr3dy77_sp33d

I did this couple weeks ago but only get the £6. no clarity on how to get the remaining £3. it's way cheaper to get this via reference as you only need to pay £1 to get 1 box. My friends that got my referral only pay £1 and I have to sacrifice £3. on the positive note, simply cook dishes are quite tasty, way exceeding my expectation

My cash back tracked (through TCB) but they have denied it. Still the box was cool, made 2/4 of the meals so far

steviep43

It just tracked too

steviep43

Used code taste123 and ordered for £1. Worth a punt for that, thanks

LimeandGlory

Sorry, I'm not sure why everyone isn't getting the £1 price. I think it must have applied the £1 discount elsewhere. I clicked back on the 'voucher code' box and it seems that it's pre-filled with 'taste123' for me, so maybe that's what happened. I don't want to advise you to use that code necessarily as it might void your cashback. I have had mine confirmed though, and I guess I must have clicked through something else first to get the discount, and then clicked on topcashback and it's saved the code with cookies.

steviep43

Can't get the £1 deal either. If I don't enter a code it defaults to £4.50, if I use a code on TCB is gets it down to £3. Where are you clicking through from in TCB?

They will spam you house with snail mail advertising which is a lot more of a pain to cancel.

joeymcjoe

Thanks Thanks, just tipped me over to giving it a try!

mamboboy

All legitimate mailing lists have unsubscribe links at the bottom. Failing that you can change your email in the account or just flag it as spam so it filters to the spam box. " You are able to cancel deliveries at any time in the my account section of the website. Just log into your account > click > My subscriptions > View Membership Details > Cancel subscription" P.S. Thought I'd add... you can edit the box recipes you'll receive before it's sent out as well. Pretty good idea seeing as you could end up with something you don't like!

joeymcjoe

Any idea how easy/difficult it is to cancel?

jdpwest

For £1 you'll end up on their spam mailing lists for the rest of your life.

Kidmonkey

Restaurant quality meals for £1, all you need to do is add the ingredients and cook it yourself? LOL Yeah if restaurants served food which was either over or under cooked by an IDIOT (Aka Kidmonkey). False advertising, I intend to sue them ;) KM

olster5645

I think the deal has expired. And you can't cancel straight away, so will end up paying £10. Agree £3-£5 per person is expensive! Although HelloFresh I realised if you don't cook one of the meals it costs £20 per meal which is a fortune. All a con - just go to a supermarket!

joedastudd

wtf It makes the likes of HelloFresh and Gusto look cheap, they both come with everything you need. This is just a spice box and recipe card. For £1 it would be worth a punt, but I can't see who they can be successful.

stevoiac

Probably, I'm just going to expire this quietly and hope no one notices...

GrouchoM

I think you have to sign up to a monthly subscription and then remember to cancel it...
