Must be account specific. i dont have that offer in my account.

What is there to do in Houston?

Flew this route in January as part of a £250 return deal we booked in November. Cannot recommend the airline enough, in these days of low cost EVERYTHING it seems, Singapore Airlines offered free drinks (I doubt unlimited but they didn't bat an eyelid at me asking for a 2nd beer), 2x meals, snacks, icecreams. We were on the new A350 and the in flight entertainment was superb - virtually an iPad on he back of the seat in front. Up there with one of the best flights I've had.
The route from MAN-HOU was only half full so lots of people were spreading out taking 3 seats to themselves, way back was almost full mainly with people going on to Singapore afterwards.

Oh and unrelated to the flight, but Texas is a great state to tour around. We hired a car and saw some of 'real' America
Highly recommended.

Can you provide links and instructions?

I stayed at that hotel you speak of, Marina Bay Sands. Super expensive and super packed. 40min queue to get table at breakfast. Suitable for a 5* hotel? I think not.... Never again.

Agree with you on this. Been to many countries in Asia myself, and Singapore s pretty boring. Better spend time in Thailand, Vietnam, China ... Vietnam is best and cheapest, second s Thailand.

Your transit experience in Singapore is now more rewarding. Redeem a S$40 Changi Dollar Voucher when you transit through Singapore, from now until 31 March 2015.

Well worth pursuing if going through Singapore with Singapore Airlines or SilkAir.

If you are transiting through Changi on SilkAir or Singapore Airlines each passenger will get, on presentation of proof of flying with them, normally the tickets, a free voucher worth S$40 (roughly £20). So two travelling you get £40 worth, four travelling £80 worth.
Can only be claimed in the airport once while in transit either on way to destination or on way back.

Bit late to this one but can anyone clarify the following. I booked SQ tickets for travel O/B via Changi to BNE in November 2012. I will be travelling O/B early December 2013 returning end of December 2013 again via Changi.
'Only effective for tickets issued on 01 October 2012 – 30 June 2013, both dates inclusive.
Only effective for transit in Singapore on 01 January 2013 – 30 June 2013, both dates inclusive.
S$40 Changi Dollar Vouchers are valid from date of issue to 31 March 2014.'
Does the above mean that you can only claim them when you are at Changi up until 30/6/13 and they remain vaild until 31/3/14? ie I will not be able to get them when I travel via Changi in Dec 13?

Hot, great offer. If anyone knows of deals around that airport, be sure to share.

Btw if you happen to have some time on your hands while in transit and have got fed up with the usual overpriced airport terminal food and can go through passport control just follow the signs for the staff canteen. Anyone can eat there but just without the 20% discount given to airport staff. Not that you'll mind when you see the prices

Eaten there many times. These are known as food courts in Singapore for the locals who dont like cooking at home, usually in the basements of malls/airports etc. Also they have a free bus to Mustafa 24hr shopping mall in Little India.

Best airport on the planet, no question. Gutted to leave!

I thought this comment on the above thread was pretty close too:

"a bit of both still. I prefer the build em ones. I once got a drag car that was about 5 inches long that was awesome lol. im such a child hahaha"

Could have taken it with him to Changi, not like Heathrow, lots of space to play with your kinder egg dragster there

this always (used to be) an every year bargain with SQ airlines.
Malaysian airlines also have (well used to anyway!) an offer where as long as you travel beyond mayasia your where entitled to a free internal flight in malaysia as long as you paid for the hotels with them.
this used to be the case about 9 years ago when i worked as a travel agent.
hopefully sq will soon release the dates for 1 apr 10 onwards- as that's when i'm travelling!!!

Changi (Singapore) Airport is the best I've ever ever been in. I was actually sad to leave to board my flight. We were only there for a few hours, but WOW, what an airport.

Where else can you watch live premiership football with a live cabaret whilst waiting for your flight? Amazing. BAA can get stuffed.

Heat added, we are flying to KK next March got a really good deal on flights when they had their sale a couple of months ago. In order to get the best price we had to have a 14 hour stopover in Singapore. Now we have a bed for £2 including the transfers. Amazing deal when you consider I was quoted £74 for a 12 hour slot in the transit hotel. Shame we are not stopping longer to enjoy all the sights of the city!!!

All the prices have gone up (nearly doubled) I have to say the singapore airlines booking website is the most annoying to use. It had no order or logic to prices it would spurt out during the promotion. It was like playing a fruit machine, trying your luck to get the lowest price. In a space of 30 minutes in one day it would give me something like 6 different prices all for the same dates. Each time I would hope it would give me £310.90 rtn to Hong Kong which I did see a few random times but when I would go to book and enter my CC details it would say that your session has been timed out! and trying again it would throw a price of £580+I'm now going to go to Hong Kong with Qatar in September for £287. Ha Ha Ha singapore airlines plus their website is more reliable and pleasant to use.
