Bit random but here goes!

Had to buy some timber and found this the cheapest anywhere. Cheaper than my local building merchant (MKM).

Single CLS Timber - 38x63x2400mm £1.95 each. Available in store at Homebase.

CLS equivalent of old school 2" x 3".

£2.98 in B & Q. Even the multibuy (20 off) is £2.

good price if you only need 1. £10 for 5 at wickes.

you'd save 25p at homebase then ^

Ive used these on outdoor projects. Make sure to seal them first with a good quality wood preservative and paint.

Wickes is £2.99 each. No?

This deal is for a single piece of timber (first word in the title). Buying this sort of thing in bulk is obviously cheaper.

A timber merchant will do you 100 off for a lot less than Wickes I'd imagine...

Come on everyone, let's get a length of 3x2 to go hot! X)

You'll do very well to buy it cheaper than this, even in bulk from a timber merchant (that's my day job)

I use the wickes version quite often. There are a lot of bent, twisted and broken timbers. So spend a bit of time hunting for the straight ones.

i tend to spend a good bit of time sorting out the straight/no splits/massive knots/resin ones but they usually have a couple of open packs.

Excellent price for some good hard long wood.

Not hard wood...this is the flaccid version

would these be any good to build a desktop out of? 1500mm desk width

Thanks, just bought 2 of these to make stilts for my kid.

Isn't 3"x2" 75x50 in new money? (I pay shade over £1/m).

This is 1 1/2"x2 1/2".

What a plank.

this is 3×2 planed, it works out 80 odd pence per metre, cheaper if you buy 5from wickes

CLS is always quite a bit smaller than PAR timber or even treated.
I pay 75p/m +vat so it's a good price.
