Thought this was a cracking price for advanced tickets to/from Leeds/London.

I've checked loads of dates in June and as long as you are happy to travel in the early evening you can get the tickets at these prices throughout most of mid to late June and most of July and August

i would pay a lot more than £11.50 to get the hell outta leeds

Excellent prices! Will be taking this up, Cheers Andy.

sorry voted cold as thetrain line charges for credit card fees.

as far as i know there are no tickets on thetrainline that you can't book with any of the other ticket engines (eg crosscountry, virgin, east midlands trains) and the latter don't have credit card charges.

cold* due to the incredibly **** adverts. I know why places make annoying adverts but I still hate them so I make a conscious effort to avoid said companies :-P.

*i haven't voted really!

This is a standard advance fare that you can get through any of the train websites, and by doing this you'll avoid the charge from trainline. Southwest Trains don't charge, for example, and also give Quidco cashback. I used to go back and forth between Nottingham and London at £10 a journey on the advance fares ..... this isn't really a deal.

You could fill this website with similar train offers if you wanted.

Hardly a 'deal'

It"s that price all the while if you book far enough in advance and travel on the right trains .

DONT use Thrtrainline though ,they charge fees . I always use Redspottedhankey.com , free delivery,no credit card fees ,tickets normally arrive within 3 days and you get points to redeem against any future purchases from them ,they deal with all train companies and if you have Tesco vouchers you can redeem them for double the value with them as an e-voucher...

Exactly what I came in to say. The Trainline charge a booking fee you can easily avoid by either going to national rail or to the providers website direct.

Not to put a downer on the deal, which is a good price, but just to say avoid the website in question!

Or book direct with eastcoast.co.uk and pay no fees and also if you book far enough ahead you can find tickets starting at £10.25 if you look far enough ahead.

Eastcoast seem to be the cheapest for this route. They also have a great rewards programme too. I travel to london weekly with them and find they generally have the cheapest deals. Thetrainline.com were a pioneer in on-line train ticket sales in the UK. I had been using them since about 2000 until a couple of years ago when I realised they were adding 3.50 fee for amex + 1.00 booking fee. Stay clear of them. But as others mention in this post. Many of the train operators sell the same tickets at the same prices without the fees ontop.

I can't believe people still fall for The Trainline's marketing... Reminds me of their old advert where there are a load of sheep getting on the train - the sheep in this case being The Trainline passengers.

I've yet to see a ticket cheaper on there than elsewhere, plus the likes of Southern, South West Trains and a couple of others have Quidco/TopCashback, East Coast has a loyalty scheme, RedSpottedHanky has a loyalty scheme.

There really is no reason to ever use The Trainline.

But not if the line ends in London, the worlds unwashed post gym armpit.

Isn't this train also known as "The Rentboy Run"?

thanks for the advice about booking direct.... I have always found the trainline to be trash....

so whos the best to use...?

I'm confused? When so many folk have explained why this is not a good deal as its always available and indeed is better purchased cheaper via different sites does this offering continue to attract heat?

What am I missing?

Always try direct with the train operator. If you are unsure then check your route on the national rail website and they will show prices and direct you to the train operators site.

My broadband account gives me unlimited email addresses. Wilma1@ wilma2@ and on and on.

An account can be created in less than 1 minute, but I agree it seems a strange post.

Could you explain why you think its a hot deal when its always this price or cheaper elsewhere?

This is just the normal cheapest advance ticket price, a great price but not a deal?

Ahh.....I now see why its attracted heat. Some folk simply dont read the thread and assume that because others vote hot they must too.......and so it rolls on and on.

Although I suspect you fall into the other camp of voting hot because you simply didn't like a cold voters (rational) comment.

What a shame on both counts.

and you've failed to read the thread and find the answer for yourself. QED.

So tell me again, how did you decide it was a hot deal? Sorry, remove the word again, you still can't answer that one even though you know the answer. LMAO.

at least I vote correctly, you actually believe that this is a hot deal because others do and because you took umbrage with another members comments.

Stubborn I may be, but blind I'm not - I read the thread, you clearly didn't. The fact you simply quote 319 coupled your initial comments is a clear indication of how little you know about how this site works. And I'm the stupid one.........oh well.

At least trying to put me down deflect from your stupidity......hang on, nope it doesn't.

if you disagree with the deal then its commonplace to post a link or at least some hard evidence. Of which you have not. Quit whining

Its even more commonplace to read the thread first before voting. Of which you have not. Quit making a fool of yourself.
