Scanning at 11p, alongside all other singular frozen lollies scanning at 10p (already posted).

Seen at Meadowhall store in Sheffield and Ecclesall Road store in Sheffield. Products were reduced to clear at price marked 75p in Meadowhall store, and were unpriced in Ecclesall Road store - these price tags are wrong and they scan either at 11p or 10p.

All the lollies are cleared out @ my M&S. I think it’s a widespread reduction, not store specific.
Yes, items have to clear to make space for Christmas frozen party foods. It was the same last year... its always worth checking at this time.

Magni is the singular

Magni is the singular

No, that would be the plural - one mangum, two magni.
Not that they're Latin.
Just picked up 500 , bargain for £55
Not in central London.

Kindest regards

Unlikely to have a masculine latin noun ending in -um, whose plural would be magni. More likely a neutral noun

If it was a neutral singular noun ending in -um then its plural would be ending in -a as in bellum (war) and bella (wars)

Just saying, as the old grey cells try and recall Latin from 40 years ago.....

In any case, the closest possible Latin root would be the adjective Magna, as in Magna carta, which is acting as an adjective to the female noun carta. So we must assume that the word Magnum in this case is acting as an adjective to a neutral word which hasn't made it to the ice cream confection. So it still stands I think:

One magnum, two magna.....

Never studied Latin, but was actual thinking of datum, data

But they already incorrectly gave magni as the singular.

We have to go with -um as it's a magnum.

But yes, perhaps I should have suggested magnum, magna

I prefer that.

Oh dear, obviously magnum is Latin, and the plural is magna.

It means great. Hence magnum bottles of wine and champagne. Magnum revolvers.
And the magna carta

I blame the person I was replying too heh.

And while magnums is an acceptable plural form - as it's being used as an English word, magni never would - as the Latin plural is magna. So not only did they get the plurality wrong, they also got its form wrong heh.

Spot on about datum and data. Except slightly more confusing as the word magnum here is probably acting as an adjective so it takes the gender from the noun.

In the case of carta it's singular female, so magna carta is singular female, more than one of them would be magnae cartae.

If it was a male noun like great master then it would be magnus dominus, and if there were more than of them it would be magni domini.

So we can have magnus, magni, magnum, magna, and magnae and that's just for the nominative declension......
Gonna buy some for next summer...

Kindest regards

Free

I don't understand... Why lie about being able to order them online and get them delivered for free ?
Just got about 40. Woman on the till looked at me like I was mad.
Wish had seen earlier, as probably all gone
Still white chocolate ones left in Meadowhall Sheffield store when I walked through this morning. Some of these items are not priced correctly so are unknown to shoppers walking by.
