Sink and Drain Unblocker £1 @ Poundland - not glamorous but defo cheap!

Needed to clean out the drains but baulked at the prices in ASDA even in their cleaning event, and so plumbed for this one instead. It seems to have worked very well and fits with the ethic that a pound spent in Poundland might as well be poured down the drain!

Good, cheap equivalent to other expensive branded products... a deal in my eyes (tho not in my eyes, that would be bad :o)

Also available in B&M for £1

Quantity measured in weight at 1000g rather than volume... Not sure why.

I bought some of this from asda the other day, cost 3 or 4 quid, this is HOT.

Or you could buy Caustic Soda from Wilkinson. Pour down plughole, leave for 30 minutes and then pour boiling water down the plughole & stand back. Usual health & safety rules apply. Please follow the instructions on the bottle.

Just get a good old fashioned plunger for the usual blockages, does away with the need to use chemicals, is reusable and usually works fine:

I've used this from pound land, works very well at clearing my girlfriends long hair that gets stuck in the waste - voting hot!

Cant agree more, lol

thought it was sunny delight for a moment.. this has less chemicals though

I will look out for this, thanks

Poured a bottle of this down the sink this morning as it was starting to get a bit stinky. Bought mine in B&M where it was also £1 a bottle. Seems to do the job!

Out of interest, what do people use to keep the sink drains smelling fresh? I used to use Buster, which was nice, and smelt good, but it didn't seem to last long enough and was pretty expensive as well as not being particularly easy to get hold of in the supermarket. Any tips?

HEAT, thanks for sharing was going to go to Asda but £3 is the cheapest they have will be off to Poundland now

good find op...

I've used this a few times before and it's great. No reason to use a higher priced alternative as far as I can tell.

Just use sodium hydroxide.

Lidl has one that more like Mr Muscle with its foaming action to clean the top of the pipes too -

It's only 99p as well.

Would like to echo the comments about Mr Muscle being rubbish.

Cold deal - always available at this price and you can get the same stuff (or similar brand) 1p cheaper from a 99p store!

can you use this stuff down waste disposal units?

didnt work for me when I tried this stuff, soda crystals cleared it in no time, if tis genuinely "blocked" this stuff wont shift it

how is this different from bleach ?

I have bought this a couple of times and can confirm it works.

Used this several times, have always been impressed by it. Hot deal for me.

May be try replacing you girl friend's shampoo with this and you'll put an end to the source of the main problem. HOT HOT HOT.

Caustic soda works for me but happy to try this one.

It generates heat when you mix NaOH with cold water so I would not mix these pellets with hot water as you may end up with something too hot to handle.

Alkali burns are worse than acidic ones so be careful with this stuff.

Also available at Home Bargains for the same price. Bought a bottle 2 days ago, unblocked a sink which was subjected to a Mr Muscle branded unblocking solution with no success. This worked a charm. Absolutely worth every penny! HOT!!

Why is this hot? It's available in 99P Store always..

Oh, oh, I didn't know poundland sold things for a pound. Please could you post everything else they sell, I'm sure they are all cheap too. Hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For everyone moaning about the Poundland post, this is hot because it's something that a lot of people wouldn't necessarily realise was sold in there, and even if they did see it, they'd possibly avoid it because they'd expect it to be rubbish.

Hot because it's good stuff that actually works -better than the branded versions at £3-4 - and it's available for much less than you'd expect.

It's NOT a deal as folk have said. It's AWAYS this price. Just because somebody doesn't know that a shop sells a certain item it doesn't make that item a deal because of that does it!

Anything that saves people money against what they'd have paid if it hadn't been posted here, is a deal to me!

It is good stuff . For about 10 years I used to sell it , week in , week out in my discount store for a pound . So the fact that it hasn't gone up in all that time , especially with the higher vat . is amazing (unless there is now less in the bottle ) ?
I remember one of the staff once spilt some on his fleece jacket and burnt a hole clean through , so pretty strong stuff !

B&M 89 p, all pound stodres same price from ages. Why it is hot??
