Great gin, usually around £22-24 everywhere, rarely goes down to this price.

Sorry for the laying down photo, I've already finished one bottle.

Heated. If you really like your sloe gin, I recommend making your own this autumn.

Have you got any tested recipe? Much appreciated.
Of course .... We've been making it for several years now. It may take you a few attempts to get that crucial balance between the sweetness (the sugar), sour&fruit (the sloes) and of course the gin (alcohol & botanicals). But that's just the fun - it's hard not to get a tasty batch first time - and so much better than 'any' mass produced batch. Just watch out for those thorns oO

I just fill a bottle with sloes (you'll get used to finding your best locations), almost to the top - **** each one with a fork (as much as you can be bothered!) then next with sugar (i just used white granulated) then finally your gin to the top.

You might think that just use any old gin - but play around with them, i find the better your gin, the better your sloe gin. I.e in true hotdeals fashion - look out for good deals during the year.

Then just forget about them - then around Christmas time onwards you're good to go. After about 6 months i find it's best to remove the sloes as the skin tannins get a bit overpowering.

I find rather than pricking each sloe, if you freeze them first, then add them. That way they split and it speeds the process up and it's much easier than stabbing each sloe.
