      Just finished eating a ribeye steak I got from Morrisons. Nice size, over 400g but lacking in flavour. It wasn't as tasty as the steaks I get from my local butchers shop. A fair bit cheaper though.
      Sirloin steak on offer but photo shows a rump being cut.......no problem if it’s the op but if it’s Morrison’s then they should know better !

      Very true nobby1963 it is a rump.
      When I cut a rump I place it on the block fat side down so that the fat grips the wooden block so it prevents slipping around

      The reason for that is it probably is too fresh and not had enough time to mature, ribeye usually has good flavour due to the fat marbled through it.

      Could be too fresh. The ribeye I get from the butchers shop are labelled as "dry aged". They taste awesome but cost a lot more than Morrisons.
