Some of those pictures give impression there may have been some confusion between Microwave and Stove :).

Look at the pictures people have posted on Amazon of this melting and catching fire. Has happened to lots of people - looks like a death trap that shouldn't be sold.

Enjoy your rice - I prefer my rice krispies from a box.

So you will believe unverified sporadic claims for a ridiculously popular product?
Instead of the obvious that those absolute cretins grilled their rice cooker and though it would be a good idea to rubbish the product because they were refused a refund.

I thought evolution would have sorted this by now

This is a good deal. Thanks for posting.

Is there a code to apply? Showing as £5.19 for me. Thanks

Sorry, the only difference I can see between this and the £1.99 version I bought is a spoon; that spoon isnt worth £3.20, so cold.

I use this regularly to cook rice. It's great.

we have had two different versions of microwave steamers, looking at the pictures there is no way used properly that these could do what is said there, no chance that burn on the bottom could happen maybe if you put it in for an hour but not for the 15 for white rice or 25 for brown no chance.

I have the veg steamers and used them most days for about 2 years and never had a problem.

Sistema is a reputable brand. Had a couple of their products that were intended for a microwave and never had any problems. When it comes to plastic containers containing food especially subject to concentrated heat, then i hope whoever manufactured the cheapo £1.99 version used plastic that meets at least the minimum current health safety standards. In China falsely labelling cheap manufactured goods is not unknown.

One person it melted in 15 mins on first use and they followed the instructions.
Another person it melted and caught fire in 15 mins (they used less quantities of rice and water).
Another person's microwave door blew open and the thing exploded after 5 mins in the microwave.
Another person's melted on first use and they said they followed the instructions and even cooked it for less time than stated.
Another person said it melted on 3rd use following the instructions, caught fire and almost burnt their kitchen down.
Another person said they followed the instructions - correct quantities of water and rice and the bottom melted in 15 mins.
etc.

There are loads more people who didn't upload pictures, saying theirs also melted if you look at the low reviews - clearly a big problem. They are all verified reviews too.

None of these people were using their stove or their grill setting - this happened on microwave setting. Also the people saying they must have used it on a stove - you can see the white label on the bottom is not burnt or discoloured but the plastic has melted - this shows clearly they didn't put it on a stove and is consistent with the microwave melting the plastic.

I have been using the veg steamer for a year or so with no problems.

I bought this recently and have used it 4-5 times. The rice comes out nice and fluffy. I don't see any way that the disasters shown could happen if used correctly (I accidentally put too much rice and water in last time and left it on full for 18 mins with no problem).

The new Red peril 😃

On a mass produced cheap product like this, there could well be variation in the quality of what is being produced by these factories. Just because it didn't happen to one person, doesn't mean it didn't happen to someone else. Making these people out to be lying is so stupid it's unreal. What you have also stated implying they are lying because they didn't get refunds is beyond a joke. Amazon give refunds without any hassle and these people had no reason to lie. They even posted pictures - there is literally nothing else they could have done to warn people. Given that you don't tend to watch what is happening inside your microwave while it cooks, this is clearly a dangerous product. At the very least people need to be aware of this reported issue if they are thinking of buying this. If you want to gamble with your life for £5, go ahead, it's your choice. I wouldn't want this thing anywhere near my kitchen.

Agreed. This is the most dangerous device since some idiot decided to manufacture a transportation device that had a metal tank underneath it containing multiple gallons of volatile flammable fuel. Nuts.

Sorry I don’t believe everything I read on the internet. But I can tell you to get that colour burn you are not following the instructions at all. Possibly no water in the pot but even then after the time it takes there is no way that could have happened.

Damn paid £8.50 last month at TK Max

These are good - parents been using one weekly in a high power micro with no fires for last year or so...

Just get a dedicated rice cooker.

I frequently see them on here for around a tenner. Fill her up and forget about it until you need your rice.

And they dont make your microwave go rusty.

Drat - ordered last night at £7.99. Will try and cancel and re-order.

Seeing some of these where the lid has melted as well. Absolutely no way this has happened with normal usage, probably left a spoon in or mistook the oven for the microwave.

Get a hold of yourself.
It's not even possible those photos are real because of the water when you cook.
It's such rubbish it doesn't even deserve gracing with a response.

Had one for years and got this exact one as a treat a few months ago and it's even better as design means it only catches fire if I put microwave on full.

Been using one of these for months. Works great, and rice comes out perfect every time.

Had one of these for a while, and can never get good rice from it :-(
Always comes out clumpy or dry... what am I doing wrong guys ?

I'd be put off by the horror stories about this - though I'd be tempted otherwise. If I really don't have time to wait on rice to cook on the hob, I just buy the 2 for a £1 Patak's Pilau or Basmati Rice packets from Poundland

Got one off these. Fantastic little thing. Cooks rice perfect everytime with ease

Either not enough water or not using the rice spoon to fluff it once cooked. A little experimentation and you should get it coming out great.

buy the covered microwave cup in Poundland. Works a treat. produces enough rice for a family of 5. Mine looks like new and it 2 years old. you can also steam veg etc.

This tbh.
I've had Sistema Bowls, Mugs etc in the past and they all started to show stains and plastic coming away/melting from the inside where I have heated beans etc in the microwave. Nothing that effects the product just looks nasty inside.

Poundland have their own bowls/mugs etc that look exactly the same and don't have the same issues, they do the same job for £1. Had the same two bowls from Poundland, one I use for heating tin food (beans mostly) and one for cereal, they are still fine after many years of use.

Sistema are good products sure, but over-priced.

What are you talking garbage for? Read the reviews - tons of reviews (lots without photos) where it melted and they followed the instructions to the letter - they used the correct volume of water. Even people who normally like Sistema have said they were shocked that theirs melted.

as I said earlier in the thread we have had a couple of these things different designs and there is no way this can happen if you follow the instructions. We also have one of the Sistema steamers and again no issues with that if you follow the instructions,

So as for talking garbage I did read the reviews, the worst one the poster admitted they didnt put in water, how on earth did they not do that and how can you have missed it.

"ITS OK EVERYBODY - C.S. HAS SOLVED THE PROBLEM - I FORGOT TO ADD WATER. Thank you C.S. Life lesson learned here."

There are also other comments about combination ovens and people can see them in the pictures and yep the posters havent come back and admitted they put the wrong settings in the oven.

I will leave you with this garbage, one review says they have used it over 500 time and guess what no issues. Guess what put plastic in an oven and it will melt, put plastic in an oven on full without anything in it and you know what it will melt.

Do you have shares in Sistema or something? How about posting all the reviews of people's whose melted? You really are talking like an imbecile. To state that there is "No way this can happen if you follow the instructions" is beyond laughable. I can't take you seriously any more and won't be wasting more time on this. If anyone buys this and it melts or catches fire they should sue you if you feel so strongly.

funny how its taken you so long to come back and have a go this was said days ago people laughed at it, I only added some more feedback, go back and look at the thread. I honestly dont care what you think about me but please try and play nice its only a deals site for goodness sake. Try picking on someone else who laughed at your earlier comments about believing what you read on the internet rather than just the last person to make a comment about it.
