Add on item so need to spend more than £10 for free delivery

Guidelines: heating porridge - Approx 30g of porridge. Add approx 150ml Milk. Microwave for 1 min, stir then heat again for 1 min.
Cooking times may vary, please take care when heating porridge.

Reviews suggest the soup mug is a better bet at the same price. These are add on items, so will hae to spend £10.

Yeah you're right, I always found myself skipping porridge as I'd think "ah I would make porridge, but I'll leave it as I have to use a bowl"

Handy if you leave early for work, and only have a microwave when you get there.

If you prefer you could put a little oil in the bottom. 30 secs on full the fry a couple of eggs in it. Yes ridiculous but not as crazy as suggesting porridge isn't a healthy breakfast!

its low gi meaning it fills you up for longer and doesnt increase sugar levels. its only high in calories depending on how you make it. i make it with water and then sprinkle cinnamon on top and maybe grate half an apple....Delicious!

500 cals of porridge is not the same as 500 cals of a fry up/muffin/sugary cereal etc

We use these for homemade soup to take to work but they do leak slightly so if you want to transport your foodstuff I would put it in a plastic bag or perhaps look elsewhere.

It keeps you fuller for longer and helps lower cholesterol, so yes, it's very unhealthy.

I have one of these and use it at work where I like my dish to be covered in the microwave. They are good throw in some fruit and nuts. They work really well.

Wrong!! Google Oats and you'll see how healthy they are. It's an excellent breakfast as long as there's no added sugar.

I use one of these bowls, but the Noodle bowl version as its bigger. I paid £5 at Tesco. Awesome for oats on the go to take to work.

Here we go with the diet police again! If you like porridge, great eat it! I personally love the stuff but prefer to eat it the traditional way.

utter rubbish. thats like saying fruit isnt healthy because it contains sugar. calories aren't a bad thing.

I have one of these have to be careful with how high you set the power. To high and it bubbles out through the hole at the top, easy tiger..but thats another breakfast lol

Waste of money.Just use an ordinary bowl.

Porridge is a great start to the day. I've collectively lost about 12-13st (I'm 25, if you were judging how down with the kids I am) and I would always suggest porridge with an added protein/fat source as part of a balanced breakfast. 30g, however, is a very VERY small portion.

For the folks who are saying that oats are high in calories. They can be, yes. 120g bowl of oats/porridge comes in at 450kcal, roughly. However, calories are a unit of energy in which we use to provide fuel to our bodies, hence the calories in/calories out notion. Losing weight - be in a calorific deficit. Gaining weight - be in a calorific surplus. As to why people are so scared of eating a breakfast that is beyond the 200kcal limit set by the Special K incentive is beyond me. And if you're one of those people that eats only 3 times a day (I tend to go through 6-7 meals but smaller in portion) then I'm unsure how you're not starving by lunch if you're not getting enough calories in during the breakfast period, not forgetting that breakfast is called that because you're breaking the fast from the time you stopped eating the day before.

From my experience, if you enjoy something and can eat it in moderation then don't restrict it. Eat it and enjoy it.

Can also be used for muesli too, replacing some of the "demon porridge oats" for nuts, seeds & fruit

To the "79p in home bargains" crew:

They're not the same item!

These are Sistema brand and are very good quality, no leaks for me if you take care to seal them properly (no food on the rim, etc.)
and the steam latches are more durable and removable for cleaning.

Home Bargain ones are OK and pretty good for the price, but the products are not interchangeable.

Its also very high in Fibre which is a good thing.

Great for overnight oats!

Its filling and high in calories. Perfect for a bodybuilding that tracks their calories to the dot.

However, those that are overweight need to be careful with anything that's high in calories. They don't track their calories so that's why they overeat in quantity and hence stay fat. Useful product for those that have the dedication to track their meal plan.
