A six piece towel bale from John Lewis priced at £12. The subtext of the deal states that this is a special deal from their supplier. Seems like a good price.

£2 click and collect? Shouldn't that be free

£2 click and collect? Shouldn't that be free

Should be, but more and more shops are making free cash by charging for it.
I went to look at these yesterday. Very basic thin towels, not your standard heavy nice towels.

Honestly, I’m not sure, does state in the description that they’re 100% cotton for softness though!
I have had a couple of these sets they are really great quality and wash and dry really well
Saw them in the Kingston Upon Thames shop - looks like good quality - doesn't mention any before/after prices (in true sale style) - but its a great buy for this price - had picked up some from the store and so far they have been good.

Thanks for posting and welcome to HUKD
Loads in leeds but i didn't like the quality. They are too thin compared to Asda towels
Any indication of GSM count?:/

Just answered my own question by checking the product spec, and as it is only 450GSM it isn’t that great. You get what you pay for I suppose.(annoyed)

I agree, I’m sure Tesco now change for it too.
I bought these in the last sale, quality not nearly as good as JL's normal stock.

They haven't charged me for my last couple of orders. They use to at some point and I think they don't anymore.

shame, looked a good deal
Good deal, heat added.
Got these online last year.
if the quality is same this year they are a great buy.
We had 2 sets 8 years ago as a wedding gift...they have washed and dried brilliantly...agreed not the thickest towels (not as thick as Asda ), but...they have outlasted our Asda and Ikea ones hands down, and dont take so long to dry...great price.
Really basic towels, good price though. Would be fine for students etc.
Bought a bunch of these as guest towels from the Cheadle store at the weekend. There are 2 bale’s...one with a bath towel and the other has a bath sheet. Obviously the sheet is bigger but both are the same price.
They’re not as thick as the Egyptian cotton towels they have on sale but they’ll do nicely for guests staying for a few nights as it comes in pairs (2x face cloths, 2x hand towels, 2x bath towels/sheets).
Alternatively, Waitrose 6-piece towel bale for £9. It might actually be from the same supplier...

Bought and posted in September:

Sadly, only one color left...

Yes, but students don't wash until thy get home. I am only now just reclaiming the bathroom as they make their way back.
do u get 2 year guarantee on dis?
Was in local JL store the other day. VERY thin and just not worth the money, much better quality towels elsewhere for the money. Disappointingly poor from John Lewis.
Decent GSM is usually about 600, so I imagine these aren't great.
They have the 6x Egyptian Cotton ones on special buy which are better value.
I’ve found Matalan’s 700gsm 100% Egyptian cotton to be the best value to quality ratio. £9 for a bath towel, £14 for a bath sheet but often have voucher codes to bring the price down.

You're the real hero here.

You know, I'd like to know where to buy really, really good towels for the best price.

I don't mind pay decent money, but I want to get a good deal!

Unfortunately click and collect is never free to offer for a retailer, it does cost them money to provide this service so they are not making a profit. The ones that don’t charge are just taking the hit.

Depends which way you look at it, and how the store processes these orders. The stores need to receive stock deliveries from the warehouse, so they add 1 for you as you’ve already paid - hardly a big cost for the retailer. Maybe the store has it I’m stock already, in which case it needs to be reserved for you...staff will already be on shift to do that as part of their job and so no cost. Retailers make profit without charging for click and collect, or else all of them would charge. It’s just an easy way to make extra margins.

Which shop is that photo from?
Ordered these online and they arrived today, the website shows dimensions of 90x150cm, but the products are actually labelled as 70x125cm

added heat as it’s a good deal, but just to warn others!
Mine arrived today. They are very thin

Great point. All 'special buy' items are specifically brought in for sale periods. It is the normal price for them in their own right.
