Maybe it's regional, as it shows £9 here. Used to be £8 so can't see why this is a deal https://www.sizzlingpubs.co.uk/findapub/yorkshireandthehumber/thekingsheadwaltham/foodmenu
The new menu is two meals from £8. States it on the website.
The new menu is two for £9 not £8.
No steaks, not even a little one 😞
I think it's alright for what it is - cheap food at cheap prices. Can also make it 8% cheaper by buying gift cards from Zeek. Best to buy a Mitchell & Butler gift card as this can be used at Sizzling Pubs, Vintage Inns, Harvesters, Tobys and perhaps a few more in their group!
Well I went with family to one yesterday on the outskirts of Coventry and enjoyed it. Might have been more the company than the food, but all the plates were cleared so can't have been too bad! Stupidly, I had got the £5 voucher when I booked a couple of weeks ago, but until this post had forgotten all about it, doh!
Agreed, I have a sizzling pub 2 minutes walk from my house but I would never ever eat there, 2 or 3 times over the years I've thought well the car parks packed so maybe food has improved and we've given it another try, Never Again, worst food ever, I don't know how all those people eat that s*#@
The last time I went to a sizzling pub was the last time I will be visiting a sizzling pub! Aside from the terrible food and terrible staff, it was a nonsense of 'you cant use a 5 quid off voucher with a burger and drink deal as that's classed as a deal already' 'kids eat free is just a single meal and you have to add drink and pudding which makes it more expensive than just buying a normal price kids meal' 'if you use the 5 quid off with the kids meals it will make you pay for all items separately making it cost more than the voucher is giving you off' Terrible places, terrible food. They even said come back for a free meal which I turned down.
Someone talk me through that mixed grill (horror)
Well there goes the diet!! (lol)
'Wor Lass' lives near one, and after speaking with area management, there may be some very good news soon. Discussions are being held re a permanent 20% discount for all NHS staff ... When I enquired if the 20% would be stacked on to offers like this 30% deal, the manager said he'd have no issue with it, but would be part to the discussion. The permanent 20% off for NHS staff would be off TOTAL BILL, so including ALCOHOL! What's the worst that can happen ;) And starters, desert, etc. Should be sorted within the next month :)
My Mrs loves it when I take her up the Sizzler.
Hand battered fish, chips and peas £3.85, cheaper than Morrison’s dive cafe.
I got 127 for 25% off. 76 for free starter.
Just got a free starter and 25 % off . Good timing too . 8 of us going for tea tomorrow. Thanks very much for posting. Probably save about 16 quid. Cheers.
On my app I can get free burger topping for 20+ score, free bud or coke for 40+ score, Free starter for 100+ score and Classic pizza for £5 for 160+ score. It resets after 24 hours then you can play it again but the score are higher.
And Toby carvery all owned by same company
You can also get the same deal at Stonehouse Carvery and Pizzas
This has been permanent since last years New menu. I know this as i used to work for them.
No that’s pescatarian - vegetarians don’t eat meat or fish but drink milk and eat butter.
Is scampi and the fish cake not vegetarian ?
"- Vegetarian version available."
It says 'seasoned' chips. I can see some anger from that. "I don't like mucked up grub! What's wrong with normal chips!?" Chips that they'd then cover in half a pound (no metric from Grandpa!) of pepper. What is it with old people and pepper? Every time there's an over 60s night at the pub the place looks like the last days of Pompeii when the food comes out. Three days later they're still using sneezing dogs to find people trapped under the pepperlanches. You can't tell if they're crying because they're glad to be saved or it's just the pepper in their eyes.
+1 The best 'pensioners special' we blagged (at 62 and 58) was at Harry Ramsden's, Blackpool. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the best thing about Blackpool
60+? Sadly, I won't get away with it. My wife will though. :p
Had an excellent meal when we visited in the north. Breakfast also very good.
Depressing menu, obviously geared towards maximum blandness.
Hot. My wife loves it when I take her up the sizzler.
Very little helps (horror) (y) have some HEAT
I knew when I posted the deal I'd get the great big beer debate. You'll always get people saying things on carling, Stella, coors, carlsberg, amstel, bud.......But thought hey ho it's free beer..who don't like free beer? Obviously can't please everybody. People actually voted free beer cold. World's gone mad.
I quite like the taste of bud... mind you i'm not a pretentious **** who can only drink beer if it's brewed by two blind blokes in a lighthouse somewhere off the coast of norway...
That may be the case but I don't base my beverage preferences on the brewing difficulty - I base it on whether or not I like the taste.
Not many people realise but it's a particularly difficult beer to produce. Having visited the brewery and brew my own beer they produce a high quality product
Had 4 free beers and won 3 free burgers.
Thank you, it's a nice refreshing drink
worked fine for me today. Showed code on phone boom free beer. Sadly they had no lime
looks like a free £5 voucher too
You may have missed this deal, but there's still a good offer for this week..... https://www.hotukdeals.com/vouchers/25-off-food-sizzling-pubs-2518140?m=1
My steak was spot on, and I am a bit of a snob when it comes to eating out, lovely Guinness to complement it
5oz is probably the precooked weight too. So if they've overcooked it, you're going to get a piece of tough cardboard on your plate! oO
What happened to the other half, was she there too? 8)
Had it last night, half of the steak was inedible
This is in Birkenhead Argyle street, they do the deal the day after steak day, obviously selling the steaks they didn't sell on steak day...
It's a chain so the same food's supplied to all. Silk purse etc.
I went to Sizzlers ,Gateshead for early Christmas dinner with some 6 family members...some had steak..it was disgusting really poor quality...whole variety of meals ordered and all below parr...yes it's cheap but it's poor quality...stick to Weatherspoons...
All food is bad for you, when consumed in large quantities. That's why we as human have higher brain function to consciously control and eat in moderation.
Where are these significantly lower prices and which Wetherspoons please?
Buy cheap expect monkeys? Oh how I love the old proverbs. A stitch in time is worth two in the bush. If you can't stand the heat, you're going to get burnt. An apple a day spoils the broth... Classic wisdom.
I think its at all the chains owned by the brewery as same offer on at Crown Carveries.
Food snobs think slapping a bit of meat on griddle and turning it over is beyond anybody not working in a gastro pub charging £20 for the same food served in spoons.
It's all about convenience & how much folks are willing to pay for quality. If you don't like it, buy all raw ingredients, groceries & cook it yourself. Don't forget the cleaning afterwards. I guess peoples' time & skills don't count for anything these days not that it's hard to cook this. Like most things in life, buy cheap, expect monkeys.
yes thats what we all did x
Can you just show the voucher on your mobile?
Being doing this for years. Shame Saturday isn't in it any more.
i got a free drink with my meal too :) bonus :)
Tiny price BUT tiny portions from what I saw at my local sizzler compared to the other dishes ordered Cold!!!
Had a rare steak at Liverpool turnpike tavern and it gav me terrible, belly-crippling food poisoning. Beware!
You CAN combine offers. You can use the green card with this offer and it only costs about £4.50. Might just be at my local, Bellevue in Blackpool, cos we're regulars
Wouldn't have allowed it, strictly won't combine ANY offers. We had the steak offer for lunch yesterday, superb value and plenty enough for a nice lunch, great food and service at the Dolphin at Bottesford
I did this yesterday and they did the kids meal for a quid , really good lunch for £11 for 3 of us. Probably should have been cheeky and tried the £5 voucher , will visit again and try :)
Re using the £5 voucher with this deal. I recently used a £5 voucher when purchasing 2 fish and chip deals including a drink @ £5.99 each. The voucher was accepted. There is a minimum spend of £10, so to get over £10 for two of the steak deals, simply add an item such as bread & butter or upgrade the chips.
