The following includes Hotel, Flights, Luggage, Transfers, ATOL Protection etc and are provided by Neilson Holidays.via Thomas Cook. There are additional extras such as lockers at ski lifts etc but you will have to read the blurb for that because I dont understand it because as you know I dont do cold brrrr, made me hairs stand on end just digging these out for you people!

I hope they meet the requirements of the people that have asked for them.

You will see all the blurb from the following holiday - however you could use Tesco Compare to shave a few quid off the price - I cannot do this at the moment as their search engine appears to be down.

Great stuff again! Looking forward to booking my first holiday in 18 years this summer thanks to you! I'm not going to ask you to find me a custom deal but I was wondering if you could give me some tips I could use myself? As when I'm using websites like Travel Republic the cheapest I can find on a room only holiday with transfers for places in Spain (like Majorca) is around £250 per person (a group of 2) when I think I've seen you find trips to Spain for around £118!

The basic advice I can give you when booking a holiday is that you should use a search engine as a starting point for building your holiday I often find Travel Supermarket as a good starting point to get a feel for the prices. Use website such as Tripadvisor to see what other people think of the accomodation and to see if the hotel is reputable, once you have done this you can manually cross reference your holiday package from the search engine against hotspot places such as Travel Republic,Tesco,Cosmos,Monarch,Thomas Cook,Thomson, why I say this is because the search engine sometimes misses out holiday's (rearly but no harm in checking), I don't use charter flights or package holidays so I am no expert in this field, but I am pretty sure Stacey will give you a much better insight, I hope I have helped a little

on the beach is always a good place to start as they have really good "deal finder" which is easy to use, but they are never the cheapest and remember the price you see does include luggage or transfers so dont get too excited when you see that first price. Once they have done the hard work and come up with a decent price you can then shop around for that same holiday, the flights are generally with budget airlines i.e. ryanair or easyjet, you can go direct to their page to book the flights saves going via a Agent (the reason I sometimes list the flights via travel republic etc is because it works out easier for me rather than listing two separate operators and also its easier for the average person trying to work out how to book it. Then shop around for that accommodation. My favourates have to be Travel Republic, Alpharooms and Monarch Hotels xxx

As you really won't get off a hill on your first week you don't need to go to a super duper resort with lots of black runs, red runs etc.

I learnt a few years ago. We went to Austria, a place called seefeld. It was ideal for learning.

I now love French resorts but wouldn't recommend paying the "premium" if you're learning.

It was the best experience ever. (I first went skiing for my 40th)

In fact Soldeu is a great place to learn when the snow is good since they have a lot of British instructors there as opposed to France where they're mainly french.

Thanks I appreciate all the help you put in on these forums for us Dyu think a holiday to Canary islands or Balaeric islands for August would be booked earlier in April/May (due to everyone rushing around that time to book summer holidays) or would a last minute booking in the last few weeks be better or would I stand no chance at all booking that late in the summer?

I booked mine last December because the prices were quite low, or at least as low as I think they will go. There is nothing overly special knocking about at the moment, its just a case of always keep your eye on the ball im afraid and when it reaches a prices your happy to pay - snap it up

Great news, we're off to Bansko in two weeks and I notice the snow looks a little patchy at present...

Soldeu is a great resort, particularly for beginners and intermediates.
If going to Soldeu, you can get a better deal by booking ski hire, lift pass and lessons together on the Grandvalira website. You can also view weather conditions/piste map etc.

Yep I'll keep my eye out! The bit about keeping your eye on the ball and as soon as a good price pops up I should book it makes sense, otherwise I would have kept on ignoring the cheap deals thinking " I'll find a cheaper one, I'll find a cheaper one" and end up paying much more in the end :P

How many holiday makers realise they are waiving a lot of their legal protection as a British Holiday maker when they book these "budget tailor made holidays" such as On The Beach offer.

not a lot judging by when some of them featured on watchdog. So many people go into it with their eyes closed - until of course something goes wrong. They do come in really handy for searching holidays but I also tell people (if they are planning on going down the DIY route, because although its a Travel company it is not by any means a package provider) once they find what they are after they might as well go direct to book - not only do they save themselves a couple of quid but also peace of mind its instantly booked.

there are lots of fab deals towards the end of April on Thomas Cook at the moment, the reason i saw towards the end is due to the easter holidays, there is a bit of a hike price during that period im afraid. I would say watch Thomas Cook tomorrow as a dicky bird tells me they may have some new offers starting?

Thank you!! :-)

Both those deals look good! i wish i could get away this winter! Which airline are the flights to Andorra with? Im just looking at carriage prices for taking your own skis/snowboard with you. BH air looks like it charges £15 for carriage plus another £16 for storage at the resort in Borovets?

I like to go where ever I can, I just love to get away but I admit im not a fan of the cold. The cold hurts me lol

I'm grateful for anything we can get get and also quite greedy so we tend to have an accumulation of lots of cheap holidays as opposed to one big one if you like. Its important for us to get away as often as possible withe kids as we both work full time.

fortunately, we are not fussy and find we fit in better with more working class families and try to avoid snobbish type places as the last thing we want is to be telling the kids they are not allowed to have fun, its their holiday too. Ryanair have made it possible for us to visit many cities as well which we have found we like a lot, checking out the museums and culture. I also love my all inclusive sitting by the pool watching the clouds move by and joining in with the karaoke at night (after a few sangrias of course) So in terms of my favourate I'm willing to grab anything thats on offer, we are grateful for just about anything really We tend to get along well wherever we go and make the holiday fun ourselves.

One memorable holiday is when I picked up flights to Santiago de Compostella for 1p. I have no idea where this place even was but we decided to take the bull by the horns and go for it - we were there for 5 nights and had a fab time, we learned all about the camino and pilgrims and did lots of days out. I would go back there and recommend it

Crikey bet you wished you hadnt asked now lol

Hi Stacey, I was wondering if I could pick your brains. I need a flight, return, from Manchester to New Zealand (Wellington preferably but can do Aukland) on 4th Feb - 4th March, 1 adult. It must be with Emirates. Do you know of any good methods or have any tips on how best to get the cheapest flight??

I've obviously tried Emirates directly but they seem dear (£1400+). Are there any handy tips you might have? Much appreciated!!

Joel

P.S I know you get bombarded with questions so apologies in advance!
