Unlike A13 i drive a Skoda and have done for 2 years, excellent car. Suggest A13 starts reading???? owner satisfaction surveys and looks at residuals before making ignorant comments.:p

Most Skoda drivers haven't driven anything else.
I am a VW driver, but will probably be a Skoda driver for my next car. Great cars, the list price of a similar spec Polo would be almost £4k more than this deal and its virtually the same car.

They also have the Roomster for an extra £1000 with 25% off. Personally more useful to me, looks FUgly but much more room inside for my mental dog!

A13, not to put too fine a point on it but you're an utter knob. Every time a Skoda is mentioned you turn up like a bad smell. We get the message, you don't like Skoda's. Grow up.

Positions 1,2 and 4 are Skodas. You need to drag yourself out of the 1980's.

A13, really?

Currently a BMW driver myself and will be buying a Skoda (possibly a Yeti) as a replacement, but this deal is excellent! The 1.2 3 cyl engine is quite good fun and not too bad on fuel (had an Ibiza 2009 1.2 for a bit).

Most Skoda haters have never driven or been in one.
Nowt wrong with Skoda, does A13 drive or even own a car as they seem to have some issues going on. The facts don't lie, like Datsun, Skoda have turned things around albeit with the help of their German neighbours and make perfectly decent cars. I expect this discussion will come back again in a few years time when people are driving cheap Chinese branded cars.

Here I am!!

But I'd drive one of these too.
Great value, the jokes on the idiots who keep making the same old tired jokes.
What A13 must not realise is that Skoda are owned by VW, who also own the Audi group, they share a lot of common parts across the ranges marques and models to keep production costs down. You buy a Skoda, you are basically buying a VW anyway, its pretty much the same car in a different outfit.
This is a decent first car
Next door neighbour has owned a 59 Polo with this engine from new. Cylinder head has gone after 15,000 miles.

Website not working for me but that is a 3door S.

Cheapest 5dr Match 1.2 70ps is £10179 from drivethedeal.com
Skoda & Audi are owned by the same parent company, Volkswagen
The Fabia is basically a cheap Polo

Utter tripe.
Always the people making disparaging comments about Skoda are those that have no experience of them (they always claim they do though oO )
Skoda are essentially run by the Germans now
EVERYTHING updated and state of art.
Excellent deal.

Well come re-sale what would you rather have, the polo or the skoda ?

I am in no doubt, the skoda and seats that run with the modified VW equipment are exceptionally good, but come trade in time after two or three years i'd have the polo match - its only £1229 more

Great deal, great car. Idiots on here who don't know these days Skoda are VW owned and quality.
I think I would go with the Polo better mpg and looks better, not a bad deal on the Skoda but think they just keep hiking up there prices over the years,
From 2002 up to 2007 i believe VW AG had dealings with skoda but not sure about now

VAG have owned Skoda since 90 or 91 i think. They still do. Don't know where you got 02-07 from

Also it is the same engine, same gearbox so same MPG

Good cars, I can't even say 'get over the badge' as I think most of us did that a long time ago, aside from those who wait under bridges to trap goats. I've had VW, Seat, Vauxhall, Honda and now a Skoda Fabia VRS. It's the best car I've owned, the cheapest to run, the cheapest to ensure and has the best performance of the lot. I didn't buy brand new, but over a year later the car is going for what I paid for it. I'll be keeping it for another 2-3 years and I haven't felt that way about a car before. Hot for the deal based on my own experience with Skoda rather than an assumption.
Volkswagen have pretty much 4 lines now.
1) Audi - executives
2) Volkswagen - Middle of the road
3) Seat - youngster
4) Skoda - value

Mk1 I presume? I had an SE remapped to 180bhp. Used to love reddening boy racers cheeks

And where did the cylinder head go to exactly?
OK I drive a BMW and have done so for many years.

However when we were recently looking for a second car for the wife and family we drove a number of cars (all wtih around 1.2L engines) including the VW Polo, the Skoda Fabia, the Seat Ibiza, the Ford Fiesta and the Hyundai i30.

I was very, very impressed by the Fabia - loads of kit, fun to drive, solidly built. Of all of the cars we test-drove the Skoda Fabia was my favourite. Yes it is not a BMW (or an Audi or a Merc..) but it was a great little car, and in my mind better than the others we drove. In the end we went for a used VW Polo as we got a good deal on it and it was the one that the wife & son preferred - but I would certainly have been happy with the Fabia.

The only concern that I'd have had with the Fabia is depreciation - but I think that will change as people's opinions of the brand change. It is not like the Skoda of old ("Have you got a windscreen wiper for a Skoda. No, it's not worth that much". "Why do Skoda's have heated rear screens? To keep your hands warm when you are pushing them" etc etc) - it has the enginerring and build quality of VW. Also, just look at the recent survey of the 20 most reliable/best cars - there were 3 Skodas in the top 4.
I voted hot, but I think the deal last month was better, same car but 1.4 SE was £8995 I think. The 1.4 is a much nicer engine than the 3CYL 1.2.
