I'd rather dig my eyes out with a rusty spoon than be an Audi driver, but yes, each to their own

This is debated in EVERY lease thread. The pros & cons of both options have been extensively discussed and hopefully by now everyone is aware of them.

Let's not go down this worn out path again.
"so not sure what bits you need"......

I'd say at a minimum.....
Engine, wheels, gearbox, bodyshell and a steering wheel.

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know

I bought a decent used car for £5k, with 50,000 miles on it.
Last month I bought a new power steering rack for £500 and 2 days later a new power steering pump for £500. That £1,000 would have got me 8 months of hassle free driving in this.

you got all the details right. Fairly standard price that we've seen in recent past. I hate this massive deposit leases witha passion but heat anyway.

Just need to add the total amount payable over the term

Oh and its 23 x 132.55 (not 24)

With 10k 231/m is pretty good, shame it's December delivery, not due till may

They are both good cars worthy of consideration. This is faster and better on fuel. Also better standard spec IIRC. But its not as nice a place to be as the Audi.
Hot!

Just bear in mind you won't get the 19 inch alloys or the Race Blue paint shown in the picture above included at this price. However you will get the controversial split headlamps that aren't shown in the picture above, as this deal will be for the facelift model.

Controversial? How so?
Why people don't just save and buy a car instead of being held down!?

Controversial? How so?

Because most people (inc myself) think they took a nice looking car in the old model as per the picture and made it look worse by chopping the lights into two pieces

Ooh yeah, what he said, what headlamps?
Last headlamp controversy I saw was those fugly, buy eyed ones on the Impreza WRX thing.

I'll reserve full judgement until I see one in the flesh, but in photos those headlights look beyond awful. Makes me happy keeping with my Gen 2 though.

They've recently changed the front end design, and split each of the front headlamps into two separate units. Some people think this makes the car a bit uglier, some aren't too bothered.

I'm just pointing out that the car you would actually get won't look like the one in the picture above, as the one shown is a pre-facelift car.

Agreed - the lower power and fuel type aren't an issue to me but it might be for some and exactly why I mentioned them in my comment.

Variety is the spice of life - the Audi isn't for everyone and wouldn't have been my choice 10 years ago - I think I'm getting old

Damn! Too late to get obligatory bingo post in untainted Really hacked off, as you have crossed out three of the options in one attempt. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

* Do I get the deposit back?
* Do I keep the car?
* I can get a used car for less
* Do I have to fix scratches?
* Is insurance included?
* Mileage is too low

If you don't understand the maths, you really shouldn't comment until you do.

Stop comparing apples with oranges.

I think that needs amending to not have "not enough mileage" but to be a bit more specific, such as "who only does X miles per year?" and "who would pay £X to have this parked on their drive all the time, which they would have to with so few miles?"
Also potential additions:
"Leasing is for those who cannot afford to buy but want to look like high rollers"
"Leasing just gets people into debt"
Somebody confusing PCP and leasing.
Cracking deal have some heat

Given the standard of crap that's on TV, I'm not sure that's the best comparison you could have chosen.

The maths don't add up, this is over £240pm and £1k divided by 8 is £125pm, am I missing something?
Makes me laugh this place, if this was a VW there would be endless scandal and emissions comments, virtually same car, same
group and same engine no one bats an eyelid
Agree with all the comments about the new split headlight facelift. Truly awful. Along the lines of what many "celebs" have done over recent years with lip fillers.

£1000 / £135 = 7.4 it wasn't 100% accurate but no it's far greater than 4 months.

52mpg vs 64mpg on the combined cycle.

If you can evidence getting those figures out of either car, I'll eat a turnip.

The reality will be closer than those figures indicate I suspect.

Ooooh ok, I was looking at the monthly coat.
So I reality.

Mondeo £5000
Steering rack £500
Steering pump £500
Total cost of ownership over 6 months £6000
So £1000 a month for a 5 year old car doing 29 miles per gallon.
Cool

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick here. It wasn't an attack on you or lease deals, I was just posting a simple correction/clarification of your original calculation. Maybe I should have just let it lie...
