I have been looking at lease cars in the last few days and Skoda seem to have to quite good deals on the Octavia. The one that has caught my eye, that I am in the middle of arranging my self is the 1.0tsi manual. Free colour is Energy Blue I think it's called. Car is £19,685 new and comes with a fair bit of kit. I appreciate that can be had cheaper at drive the deal etc and not sure exactly how the amortised stuff is calculated, but it works out at £190.99/month over 24 months. 3.6p excess mile charge. Only one service, as schedule is at 20000 miles/2 year intervals too.

A couple of airport runs will easily cover the monthly payments

Nope.

Not one to disagree but i heard it is so slow that they replaced the speedo with a calendar
We’ve got the identical model. Nice quality cabin with tons of equipment, huge boot, and more than adequate performance from the 1 litre engine, despite what some would tell you.

Only reason it’s this cheap is there’s a new model later this year.

Looks good but must be pretty slow.

I have a Seat Arona with the same 1.0tsi (115 bhp) engine and its great, pulls surprisingly well even when carrying 2 adults, 2 children and a boot of luggage.

Would have no problems going for a car with this engine again.

Car looks nothing like that - it's a Photoshop of what the new unreleased model is expected to look like.

0-60 in 10 secs - which is enough for everyday family transport, I'd have thought? But, if you often have a car full or live somewhere hilly, then I think you might be changing down a gear rather a lot.

We have the Seat Ateca with the same engine. The fact that the car, although being an "SUV" weighs less than 1,300kg definitely helps and I'd not hesitate to go for this engine again too - as long as it's a good deal

It was the 1980's who told me,as that was the last time that 0-60 in 10 seconds was classed as not slow.

Speed equals distance divided by time. A calendar only shows days, a unit of time.
A friend hired a Skoda Rapid with a 1litre engine for a two week holiday. I couldn't believe it was a 1 litre engine until I read the manual. It was fast and had no trouble with 5 adults. It has a lot of hp for 1 litre. It will break the speed limit with ease so there should be no problems unless you want to go up some mountains.

Current Ford Mondeo 0-60 = 11.7 seconds
so 10 seconds is nippy by any family car standard

Tempting for under £200 a month for a flash new car. Shame it is a Skoda though. I still think a lot of older generation put a lot of stigma on the brand.
Im sure its been asked a million times but what does lease normally include please?
Just the car? Or any of the following: servicing, tyres, breakdown etc..

Im assuming you insure as usual?
Thanks

Just the car. You can add maintenance, but was roughly £25 if I recall. Which over the two years is £600 odd. I've decided to risk that based on a £180 service (assuming you go to Skoda) and I'm hoping not to need to replace £400 of other things, as there is warranty

It's an initial payment. And most will let you flex to whatever profile you want. I always choose 1+23.

No sweat. But every Skoda lease here gets the usual crop of 1986-vintage Eastern Bloc jokes, or the Audi boys who can't comprehend they're basically buying the same cars but with more expensive badges.....
4 and a half bags for 2 years of everyone ripping past you. No thanks.
What's the lead time on these? Need a lease for October when our baby arrive s. Fiesta lease due up mid November so will have some overlap

Not all Skoda's and Audi's are equal.

I have much respect for Skoda owners, they always take pride in their cars, you can tell by the way they always have a NO SMOKING sign on the passenger side of the dashboard 😁

I taxi a 1.4tsi Octy, absolutely no problems with grunt, I get on average about 45mpg a day driving urban which is sensational. It can do 70mph like every other car. Brilliant work horse, and just add fuel and tyres.

Jeez are those photos the result of Google stylising them? I've never seen that shade of blue on any Skoda.

The lights are very marmite.
I wasn't keen on them at first, but love them now. Especially with the led under the headlights.

My Octavia is this shade of blue and I see others the same colour on a daily basis.
