I'm not sure if this is a pricing error, but the skullcandy crusher headphones are currently being sold by next (online only) for £30. Available in both white and black.

They retail everywhere else at the cheapest £70 and go up to £110.

Currys currently have them at £69.99, whilst argos and john lewis are £89.99.

I only stumbled across it as I had vouchers to spend at next and didn't need any clothes. I guess Next would be the last place to look for headphones?

I picked a white pair of them up yesterday using their next day in store delivery and they are truly exceptional. At £90 they are a great, but at £30 they are superb. I can also confirm they are the latest model (not the skullcrusher).

The cable control where you can pause music and even answer your phone is great, plus the in built amp with the bass sensation slider truly provides a great listening experience.

Here's a breakdown of the full specs.

Customer user reviews seem to be great too.

Edit: I should add if you don't choose free store delivery, it's £3.99 home delivery.

Possible quidco too.

thank you

Good price

What do you mean they are the latest model, not the skull crusher?

I'm not up to date on the skull candy range, but am very tempted and will probably order when I get home just wish I'd seen this earlier as I've just come back from a shoppig centre with next in it ugh.

When I say latest model, there was an earlier Skullcandy skullcrusher range. This is the skull candy crusher range.

Strangely enough, I've tried on 5 different brand pairs today. Colleague brought in his monster, bose, sony and Sennheiser headphones.

His Bose were the really expensive noise cancelling ones and were beautiful, but I would say in comparison to the others the Skullcandy crusher were more comfortable.

Here's the link to amazon finding lots of reviews.

I think what impressed me was the crazy bass slider on them. It requires a AA battery (that comes with it) and it slots into the built in Amp in the right speaker.

The bass levels are crazy and the headphones even vibrate (intentionally) at the top levels providing a unique experience. It's great you can adjust the bass to your own taste too.

The vibration is intentional too and is meant to enhance the bass experience if you choose to select it. You can also turn it off if you choose and there's another driver built that takes over to make the sound good too.

I unfortunately don't know. I'm not sure how the mic system is set up. The control on the cable enables you to play and pause music and answer/make calls, but I don't know how gaming would work.

Many thanks I've ordered a pair to collect on Sunday, fingers crossed they're as good as you say they are

Out of interest, is the headband padded? I've been using a pair of my bros skullcandy's (cheaper ones) that are reat but the headband is solid plastic and not very comfortable. I can't tell from the pictures if it has a leather padding or is grooved hard plastic?

Yep, the head band is padded (leather/padding). I've been using them now for about an hour straight and headpadding really helps.

No probs.

Enjoy

Would these headphones still work without the batteries, if you don't need the extra bass or vibration at times? And if they do, how's the sound quality?

Yeah they have two drivers built in. One for bass sensation and one where its not used. The standard driver takes over when the bass slider is set at zero. Sound is great with out bass on.

Check the link in my post. It will give you all the info you need.

To note, it's just 1 A A battery in the right ear cup and it lasts 40hrs of play.

Hopefully they don't clock it until after tomorrow when I pick mine up

I should have given them a call really to find out if it had arrived or not, will check tomorrow, but didn't want to make the journey for nothing

That's a shame.

Fingers crossed it's not a stock issue that's causing the problem! At least you got the message before you set off.

I've learned from experience not to set off now till the email confirming collection is ready is sent. I've been stung too many times now.

Indeedy! However my disappointment was short lived, I got the text/email stating my order was ready for collection and I got them today Very pleased with them, the bass vibration is a bit of a gimmick to be honest but overall they're a lovely set of headphones, very comfortable and I can't complain at this price! Many thanks for posting

The bass sensation is definitely a gimmick, it's more an experience I would say that sounds great with certain tracks. However, as I mentioned above, if you slide the slider about half or 3/4 the way up, the bass does enhance the experience without it being at crazy levels.

That said, it's simply not vibration though as the bass levels are enhanced.

Yep, I had mine up about a quarter earlier and enjoyed the bass boost with minimal vibrations it's all good though! Nice set of domephones for £30, chuffed

Yeah, I mentioned a few posts up they were OOS. Will see if they come back in as the last time they went OOS they came back in quite quickly.

Original Poster

They've now been OOS for a while now. Looks like they were simply getting rid of stock. I've expired it.

Original Poster

Interestingly, if you now go to the link, they've put the price to £90 now so it must have been a misprice.
