Sky Anytime+ Wireless Adapter / for new On Demand - £9.99 inc postage (was £60)

If you give sky a ring you can get a Anytime+ wireless adapter for £9.99 inc postage. They told me its only for one week then back up to £60. (This doesn't seem t be the case, as it's still available after a week)

This is a ideal way to connect your box up to the internet to get the new 'On Demand' service if you don't have a wired internet connection near by.

The new service that replaces Anytime+ has BBC iplayer, ITV Player, on-demand from channel 5, plus sky stuff. with Channel 4 joining next year.

Telephone is 08442 411 653 (I can't find anything on the website, so phone only)

No need to phone, Just ordered one online. Log into your account, Go to "My Package" and go to Add box then upgrade box at the bottom of the screen is the option to buy it online for £9.99

EDIT 2/10/12 19:50 -

If you have a older SKYHD box (Thompson, but may be others also)
If you go to MySky > Upgrade>Offers
you will see a option for 'Claim your free Sky+HD box'
Follow this to claim a free HD box with free delivery.

Just to point out there are now two adapters from sky 'old' and 'new'
it seems the main difference is just looks. I have received my on this morning and it is the older looking one, so don't expect the new one.

To get the new EPG and 'On Demand Service you need to have either a DRX 890 & 895 model of box. you can then force a update:

Switch the box off at the mains. hold down the backup button on the box, switch power back on whist holding the backup button on the box down until the 4 LED's on front of the box come on and the "Updating System Software" message comes on-screen, remove your finger from the backup button if you haven't done so already, do not disturb for 10 or so minutes until the message disappears and the box reboots.

I plugged the ethernet cable from my router to my sky box. You must have there unlimited package though (well thats what I was told). I had to activate the service on the website on my sky account too.
Do Sky tie you into another 12 months if you purchase this?

Ordered one, cheers OP
Great find just ordered one,guy from sky loads if people have been ringing up,get the before they put the price back up.
Great price, luckily my router is next to the TV so I don't need this. Always been underwhelmed by the Sky Anytime service. Good to see BBC iPlayer coming to it. The Sky range of programmes and "Boxsets" is very poor.
Just rang Sky told me it's £60 asked about £9.99 deal told me doesn't start till sometime next week
Thanks . just called up added anytime + and got the adapter for £9.99 without any hassels .
just bought one thank you
Just called them up and one is winging its way for £9.99 including postage. They're open until 11pm tonight and confirmed that they realised people weren't prepared to pay £60.00.

Call on 020 7126 7020 if you get free calls......

Got mine off sky for free 2 weeks ago.
just tried to order from sky , lady told me £60 , that they are not on offer

Had 2 for free already .
Cheers OP ordered

LOL guy I spoke to said it should be (in his exact words)

six nought point nought nought pounds but I can do it today for nine point nine nine pounds
SKY website rubbish - but call centre excellent - 5 days delivery and I am sorted
I am a newbie and don't subscribe to sky or any cable - can this still be beneficial?
i paid £1.50 for 10m ethernet cable from flea bay just to see what this anytime+ was all about, simply roll it out when i need it
glad i didn't buy this as it's nothing to get excited about, troll through pages of stuff and still nothing on!

had a closer look at the box, this is crazy! why don't sky use the redundant usb port to make their boxes wireless instead of another box with another power supply?
