Sky Broadband incl. Line Rental - £11 - RETENTION

Some good retention deals available with Sky due to the price increase. I got the below deal via the online chat which you can get to by going to Manage Account > Manage Broadband > Thinking of Cancelling? on the Sky website.

My new deal works out as:
Sky Broadband Unlimited : £11.01 - £9 discount = £2.01
Sky Talk Line Rental : £18.99 - £10 discount = £8.99

The new price I would have been paying:
£11.01 (Broadband) + £18.99 (Line rental) = £30

New price with the discounts:
£2.01 (Broadband) + £8.99 (Line rental) = £11

This is a retention deal for existing customers that will be hit by the price rise, via the web chat - they do not give the same offers over the phone.

Hope you get some good deals!!

Has anyone who is with sky via app or online account, ever been able to see any notes under my help or similar ie from when you have spoken with sky advisor via phone, text or live chat etc? As I was informed by advisor on phone that even though I've now left sky I should be able to login sky account and see any notes on my account! But oddly advisor could not direct me to that part of my account as he said he was not familiar with sky account website. I asked if he could get someone else to help, then came back, saying unfortunately that part of sky account website was under maintenance

Ask to cancel, £8.99. No haggling I just asked to cancel with 14 days notice and that was the first offer - I was on the £9.50 deal from last year! Open Sky, login and then click this link advisor.sky.com/cha…bal Edit: negotiate line and broadband and add Anytime Extra calls later for £2 hotukdeals.com/dea…742

The price rises I posted 28 Feb but mods moved it to discussion only so people are missing it, can only say contact the mods if you unhappy about it hotukdeals.com/dis…97333383084-67M52.jpg

You managed to get a great deal there, but I don't think it's guaranteed for everyone,
Previous experience of Sky retention deals for me has been very random, seems to depend to who and when you talk to them what you get. Last year I had to actually cancel to get a good deal ,within 24 hours of cancelling they offered me the deal I wanted , but point blank refused beforehand to even come close to it.
My contract is due in May so will go into battle with them again then, but it's a real pain every year fighting for a deal.
Spoke to Sky this morning, and they refused to go below £22.50!

Yes I tried before too but I think with the price hike they're expecting customers to jump ship. I was still within my minimum term but because of the price increase they confirmed I wouldn't have any early termination fees to pay. Might be worth looking before the price increase as you may have a better chance?

Live Chat, India are told to save customers.
Spoke to Sky this morning, and they refused to go below £22.50!
Could i get a retention offer on my broadband due to this price increase?

I'm currently with Sky Fibre Max. If i speak to customer services, would they offer me a better price instead of my cancelling?
refused two hours ago. cancelling anyway . ordered plusnet via mse.

It's definitely worth a try! A lot of friends are now saying they've done the same and have got really good deals. I can't guarantee it but surely it's worth giving it a go. Good luck!

The web chat I was on within 10 minutes. They clearly have busy times but I'm not sure 2hrs is the average wait.
Hmm I pay for landline, £18.99, and have free standard unlimited BB so the increase is not affecting me although it has been applied to my account and then taken off as a discount, wish I could get this deal.

I had the same deal but was told the monthly price would be going up to £20 (£18.99 line rental and £1.01 broadband) rather than £18.99. Worth a try! They're offering £10 off line rental so you could well get it down to £8.99.
I cancelled last week, wouldn't go below 28 a month and I had previously been paying 7.50 all in for fibre.

Cancelled and took virgin offer of 100mb for 23ish and hopefully 50 refer a friend credit
Think I have until may before my deal is up, currently pay £18.99 for unlimited broadband, but only getting 10mbps. Definitely thinking of leaving considering I can get fibre now for £20 per mth. Any advice for me? should I threaten to cancel now?I haven't been told about price increase yet
spoke to sky today as I had the increase in price email, advisor told me my prices aren't going up??? (load of nonsense, but nice try!) Phoned back to clarify as call charges will increase, they applied a £2 discount and put a note on file re no charges if cancelling as they could not give me a price for fibre as their system was down!!! Will maybe try this online malarky, otherwise will get talk talk fibre for £22.50 a month

I had an email saying mine is going up £1.01. Was expecting them to let me leave or at best scrap the £1.01 a month, not be £10 cheaper.

It worth a try.

Same here, I’m in the cancellation period, they won’t budge below 28 for fibre unlimited, have tried a few times but not getting anywhere! Virgin don’t supply my area !!

Yeah, same as me, wouldn't budge so cancelled, no follow up after 5+ years and new BT service starts next week. Sky seem to be pretty random when it comes to dealing with existing customers.
I think the Vodafone fibre deal is still about if you can't get virgin

Managed to get the £11 fibre broadband but they wouldn't budge on line rental. Maybe I should cancel next time
I just tried it ended up been given my cancellation date after being with sky for 15 years. Now need to find new provider before 19th march
I have just signed up through Top cashback £80 plus £75 prepaid card from sky, (12 month x £20 = £240 - £155 Top cashback and prepaid card = £85 + 9.95 router delivery charge = £94.95 for a year £7.91 a month ) happy days 😊

I've got Sky+ - not a fan of that Sky Q rubbish although they've tried to get me to upgrade in the past. I currently pay £10p/m for the Sky Originals bundle but I'm going to see if I can get that any cheaper tomorrow so watch this space.

Online chat always busy

Yes it's normally busy around this time. I was lucky and managed to get to an adviser within 10 minutes. Although I think I was speaking to them while everyone was commuting home from work!
Just called to cancel. I can only get standard broadband and not fibre.

Was due to do that this week as mine increased from £21 to £29 in November and I only realised with the next price increases his week (I know I should know better but the DD came out and I have had a hectic few months they’re the last thing on my mind).

The “best” he could do was £20 despite me saying how annoyed I was my price has shot up so drastically with no warning. Nice chap to be fair, but Will be looking at other providers to switch tomorrow

You just wait on that screen and when it's not busy the button will go blue. I'm guessing it's probably going to be quite busy at this time with most people not in work.

Ok Thanks
I am with Sky BB & Talk only, joined during the last MSE deal approx 15 months ago, then after the 12 months I called to negotiate & sky offered to keep me on the free BB (instead of paying £9.99) and gave me two months free line rental via a credit to my account of £37.98. I decided to stay and opted to pay the line rental upfront (£205).

Due to the price increase, I spoke on the phone with the cancellations team earlier today to cancel my whole Sky account, and they did not even try to make an offer to retain, even after they asked me (and I told them) why I wish to cancel and who I am going with?

After confirming that my upfront payment and the credit on my account will be refunded pro-rata, l immediately signed up with Plusnet on the MSE deal (it expires tomorrow) and have already received this:

"Your request to transfer to Plusnet is due to happen on 19/3/2018. You can cancel this order any time up to 4pm on the working day before the transfer happens."

I would have definitely stayed if they offered me this deal for £11, but the way I see it, by leaving, after 12 months I can return as a new customer, which is nearly always more than likely to be where the best deals are offered.

My sky is being disconnected tomorrow. Would not budge from £22...I wanna speak to Anil!
I've called twice in the past week to try and get a similar deal but no joy. Havn't been able to get onto the live chat at all so it's off to Plusnet for me!
