I contacted Sky yesterday (via livechat) to find out when my broadband contract was due to expire. With 45 days left on my contract, they agreed to reduce the price of my line rental to £7.40 per month (instead of £17.40) and continue my £10 per month for unlimited fibre broadband (effectively £17.40 per month). I don't know if you'll need to put this but I said I was looking at PlusNet and they charge...

£15.49 per month for the first 12 months (£185.88 - Line Rental Saver).

£17.99 per month for the last 6 months of the 18 month contract.

£5.00 per month for broadband.

All this works out on average at £21.32 per month.

The livechat advisor spoke to his manager to confirm the deal and I signed up to a new 12 month contract, starting from yesterday. Happy days!

Good deal, I just did the same with 50 pounds credit on my account. Worked out 30 pounds after router and transfer of line but very happy.

wish they'd offer me this deal! lol

out of interest, do sky stick up a dish on your house for the fibre or is it only if you opt for tv?

I tried around lunch time. Had to wait about 10 mins but got there in the end

I tried 3 different advisers through live chat, said I would leave for plusnet and best I got offered was free broadband (not fibre), no line rental discount. They refused to budge. Voted hot as its a good deal if you can get it.

You wont get free fibre only free standard broadband !

I'm an existing Sky Talk and Fibre Unlimited customer. Just tried live chat and they'll only offer £7.50 off Fibre, landline stays the same, even after telling them about PlusNet.

do you have tv with them op?

I just tried this and they weren't prepared to discount by more than £10

Nope. This was my 1st year (10.5 months) of broadband with them too?!

Wow, you got an ace deal then I've been a customer for for 5-6 years

I didn't expect to, I would've been happy to pay for fibre with the line rental discount, as per the ops post, but that option wasn't available to me.

They won't offer me anything even close to this, the best they could come back with was £20 a month + line rental!

They didn't offer you a discount at all? fender_gurl

Free activation but no offers on monthly cost, I've just been on to live chat again to see if I could get any reduction from them today still the same reply -

11:03 What I can offer you is Free Activation Fee Carl, that means I can offer you no upfront charge to change to our Fibre Unlimited, the price for this is £20 per month, £17.40 for the line rental, totalling at £37.40 for your internet services. How does that sound? Would you like to go ahead with that today?

They offered me the £27 a month all in i was paying before so i declined to go for Bt again. Now Bt says the cabinet is full since yesterday and can`t get their offer grr. Should i expect a call from Sky again?

Went onto live chat this morning not expecting much, had a nice and helpful advisor. Long story short, managed to get 20% off TV package, £7.50 off unlimited fibre and reduced line rental. Not bad savings for a 20 minute online chat!

Did work for us... Thank you so much. £17.40/m for a year, Great day!!!

Good deal...
I'm at the last month of BT fibre, and considering switch to SKY. I had ADSL before this BT Fibre and to my disappointment, I could hardly see any difference in the speed, especially on the wifi connected devices.
So I may revert back to ADSL or take Fibre if I get a good deal.
I'm an existing SKY TV customer.
I understand the normal router(SKY Hub) is not very good and they do offer the new Q Hub for reduced price.Any suggestion

Just got same deal myself. Not as good as the free line rental last year.

Can you tell me what you said please. I phoned on Saturday and only got offered £10 fibre optic for the year instead of £20 as that's me out of contract. They told me they weren't offering the £7.40 line rental anymore and they offered me the line rental for a measly £14.99pm tying me into another contract. I told them to get stuffed. As it stands I never took my broadband for half price as I would be tied into phone contract also. I may try my luck again. They offered me 20% off my Sky Tv for 5 yrs but told them no as would want a better offer in order to re-contract. Anyone else had luck getting the £7.40 line rental over the last couple of days?

The other people that have got this deal do you all have tv with them as well?

I signed up with sky last august for £7.50 a month free line rental and when I gave notice this year they contacted me a few days later with an offer to renew existing deal. Sky Talk Line Rental (discounted by £17.40 per month, with remaining duration of 12 months). This could go on for quite some time , I hope !

rang up yesterday I was offered fibre discounted by £10 a month wouldn't budge to match sse deal.

anyway I took it as have 31 days cooling off however think might stick as sse deal seems throttled where as sky service wise have always been excellent
