do u long get sky for 4 months?

Voted cold. You only get 4 months of 4 entertainment packages, you can get sky + for free with instillation and its cheaper at £72 for 4 months with 4 mixes. I know its not on contract but it seems expensive.

After the hassle I had with the last sky package deal I bought (6 month gift package £75), I wouldnt touch it with a barge pole. Hopefully others had a better experience.

Where can you get free sky+ and free installation? Sky website quotes £99 for sky+ and also £30 for installation.

Since when has "forever" only lasted 4 months?

I got this in November when it came with free gifts, Samsung mobile which I gave to www.cex.co.uk for like £35 store credit or something.

Considering the install costs and sattellite, the stb hardware, the 6months of 4mixes (I got 2mixes but paid £12 for extra 2 mixes for 6months (no kids/news) I don't see how this ISN'T a bargain.

Once the 6month CONTRACT is up, you are left with Sky FTV Forever, so long as the hardware works....

Sky FTV is awful (I've been suffering it since I cancelled my Sky contract last month) and in my opinion not worth having. Doesn't even include E4 which is a freeview channel

I have a sky+ box, and would like sky in another bedroom - can you have this deal for £75 if you already have sky ?

forever is for the freeview 200 channels....4 mix channels are free for the first 4 months

Voted hot,

allows you to see if you will use sky with out a 12 month contract

also, if like me any one has a bad ariel signal and doesnt get alot of fee view channels this is excellent.

and its prob the same cost of getting a repairman out these days so a bonus for any one with a damaged ariel.

we are looking to get sky for the football .does anybody no the best one to go for .(never had sky before)
we need halp thanks

More4/E4 channels are in a PAYTV subscription-type contract with Sky, which runs out in a few months.

I believe from June-July More/E4 will be on Sky Free To View, but it might still be encrypted, but requiring an FTV Sky Viewing Card (which just confirms you are a UK viewer for TV licensing purposes)

]digitalspy.co.uk forums will confirm that and have more info.

If you are already a Sky PAYTV customer I don't think you can get this, but knowing DSG incompetence they'll happyly take your money and Sky might even post you the letter with the special code to get it, but I can't see how it can be applied with a active sub at your address, don't risk it.

I was talking to someone who had this and they have had nothing but problems sky have went into their bank account 3 times and taken money they have had to go to cab to get their money back

Sky setup a Direct Debit here, nothing been taken though as its 6months "credit2 with sky on the mixes on the deal you get in essence.

If that happened to me though I''d be tempted to cancel the direct debit.

I talked to customer service yesterday, and found that there is a bill of £20 deducted from my account for 4 months. But when I explained them about the offer, they gave me £76 credit and an option to inform sky about the cancellation after 4 months, if I dont want to continue.

Best way to do this is pick up a second box (I got one free from freecycle) and set it up yourself. Its easy to do and should cost about £30 quid or at least that is what it cost me.

Sky box - free
Cable - £10 (from a nice sky engineer)
Sky card FTV - £20 for life (or as long as the card lasts) think its min 3 years. From sky.

You should have a quad LNB on your dish as you have sky+ so its as simple as connecting the cable to the dish and the sky box and activating the card.

Easy.

This is a really good deal if like me u don't get digital in your area until 2011.Like other posters I have had bills of £20 or so appearing after I last cancelled Sky though.
If u want to cancel payments after the free 4 months make sure u ring at least a month before the 4 months runs out, ring again after the 4 months to make sure your account has been closed and then check your bank statements for at least 3 months to make sure everything has been cancelled.

I hthink when they say "forever" its like the basic channels you get....like the shopping/travel/home channels if you get what I mean. Then with the mixes you get some of the better channels for 4 months. But maybe after the 4 months your left with a glorified free viex box

As I say, I have this and the channels are considerably worse than freeview. People are better off with a freeview box...

If you know someone who is with Sky, get them to recommend you at ]sky.com/fri…nd then you and your friend will get a sky+ box for free, or your friend can have £50 m&s vouchers if they already have sky+. This will save you about £100 - and there's no point having sky these days without having sky+ as there's no separate sky+ subscription fee anymore as long as you have monthly sky package.

Alternatively, you can get good deals from guys on the high street/shopping centres who offer so many months half price etc, but these vary and you can probably haggle with them.

Bottom line is - if you want the premier league footy, you can't get it cheaper than Sky because anybody else has to buy it from them to sell it back to you cos they're Sky's cameras.

good luck in your quest for premier league action.

Hang in there: Freesat (NOT FreesatfromSky) is coming soon.

Some_Bloke I take it you mean PSB stuff, which is already available, just the PVR/HiDef stuff isn't popular yet.

£75 install/sat/stb from Sky is still very good.

How many of the '200 channels' are Digital radio channels?

I have this deal at home and am very happy with it.

However I was thinking of buying it for a holiday apartment I run too, however that has no phone line at all. Does anyone know if it's essential or a requirement for installation to have a phone line?

Yeah if you have a friend with Sky + they can recommend you and give you a code which you then use to get a free + box and installation. Also if you Have Sky + atm you get a 2 week free trial of all channels which is nice

When i get my code il post it up here so people can use it, each time its used i get a £50 M&S voucher or another + box :P

Sky+/Multiroom/SkyHD = phone line is mandatory, cos they're scared of the multiple lnb/stb feeds and viewing cards will be used outside of their tv licensing agreements (ie abroad where Sky footprint goes)
Single Sky Digibox install they will still want a phone line installed but you can unplug it after they go, but you are agreeing to leave it plugged in, on single Sky Digibox subscriptions they tend not to care, it's rare they chase someone up after it though, I unplugged mine after a week, nothing.

Same deal instore at ARGOS..... btw I bought a box and dish and fitted it myself as here in wales we don't get freeview so this freesat is a bonus
HOWEVER I'm going to get this put into outrholiday let as it is'nt worth the hassle of messing around yourself
£75 is a deal

ps re direct debit....JUST MAKE A NOTE AND RING YOUR BANK TO CANCEL....it is'nt rocket science!!!

I bought this late November and it was installed early December.

It was cheaper than paying for an Aerial which I was quoted £140. I paid 63.50 for the sky so was worth it.

Just make sure you give them a months notice to cancel the 4 mixes. So on your 3rd month phone them to cancel and you will have no problems. Mine is due to be cut off on the 23rd April which will leave me with the basic sky freeview which is all I wanted for the bedroom anyway as I have cable in the lounge.

No nice £5 discount codes/quidco with Argos though, and yes if you WILL cancel after 5months (30days notice) then you should cancel your Sky Direct Debit, seconds to do via online banking.

i couldnt live without sky and all the good channels like sports, although i dont bother with the movie channels (as its easier to get free rentals from lovefilm and see the films 6 months earlier than sky do).

its a 4 month contract and after that £19 per month. i dont see any deals here

what connections does the sky box have?... my current old box just has scart and the picture looks worse than the built in free view.... i wonder if sky will replace it with something else if i threaten to leave

please note after the 3 month offer is over your postcode is on there system for 12 month and you can not have any other new sky offer which i think is a bit of a con to get you into sky!!!

The installation? The satallite dish? The STV Sky Digibox? altogether worth well over this asking prices, thats the deal....

Depends what football you are after, Premier League, football league and Spanish matches are shown on Sky Sports 1, Champions League is shown on Sky Sports 2 and 3.

The cheapest you could pay Sky to watch Premier League is £25 a month, you'd get 1 mix and Sky Sports 1.

If you want Champions League aswell thats another £8 a month, but that gets you Sky Sports 2, 3 and Sky Sports Extra aswell.

Seems a fair offer to be honest, but I don't think I will be taking it up.

We had major problems with them a couple of years ago - we got a flyer delivered saying 'come back to us for 3 months, blah, blah, blah', which we did. At the end of the 3 months (minimum period CLEARLY stated on the flyer) they were haveing none of it and saying we signed up for 12 months. After alot of stress and hassle it was finally sorted.

Just be wary of them.
