Sky Fibre Unlimited and Line Rental - £20 pm for 12 months (retention deal)

Hi folks. There has been some good Sky deals and advice from posters around, thought I might share my experience here as well.

As an existing Sky Broadband Unlimited Customer paying £18.99 with contract ending July 2018, Sky called to "offer" me to stay with them. I upgraded to Sky Fibre Unlimited for £25 (£18.99 line rental plus £6.01 discounted fibre unlimited) per month all up, with £0 setup fee. This offer is available to new and existing customers, normal cost £38.99. At this point, I did not receive any Sky price increase email notification at this point, so thought I had a reasonably good deal. New 18 month contract.

Later I looked up Sky deal threads on HUKD, and came across folks who scored incredible deals on their broadband and fibre using online chat, with India call centre specifically. Some folks got a better deal second time around using the chat. If only I had done some research on HUKD I would not have agreed to the £25 Fibre Unlimited deal over the phone.

So, last week, I did receive the Sky email notification on price increase, and decided to try my luck again this time using online chat. Went onto chat link provided by another poster advisor.sky.com/cha…bal and chatted with Rajat. I told him about the Sky increase email notification. He responded by saying lets see what we can do to reduce your current bill Sky Fibre Unlimited. And straight up, another £5 off Line rental. I accepted it. And a new 12 months contract replacing the previous 18 month Sky Fibre Unlimited contract offer.

Sky Talk Line Rental £13.99
Sky Talk Line Rental £18.99
Line Rental Discounted -£5.00
Sky WiFi FREE
Sky Fibre Unlimited £6.01
Sky Fibre Unlimited £20.00
Broadband Subscription Discounted -£13.99
Sky Pay As You Talk FREE

Estimated total £20.00

No Sky TV or other package added, just straight fibre unlimited.

Its not the lowest, some people got £18 offer from previous threads, so well done. I was just happy I got a further discount off the original offer thanks to the advice given by folks here, even after I have just taken up a new contract. Hopefully my experience can help those in a similar position, and get further discounts whatever they may be. Good luck!

Got same deal but for £18pm
I’m getting offered £35 with £59 set up fee because I am not a sky tv customer. Only a sky Broadband customer
I did the same. Got mine reduced to £22pm and they raised my speed up to 52mb
shame you also need to have that almost useless entertainment pack

I tried this with Sky and found they are terrible at throttling back during peak times, as in I was 18mb on most evenings (bear in mind my 4G mobile gets 16mb). These speeds do affect my sons PS4 gaming, it's frustrating when people with faster internet have an unfair advantage. I quit Sky (both TV and Broadband) and went back to TalkTalk for broadband and Now TV for TV. The TalkTalk deal was at the time a retention deal so I got their faster (unto 76mb) unlimited broadband for £22.50 per month and to be fair to them the speeds are amazing, it rarely drops below 60mb and the lowest reading I have had was 40mb. Now TV is pretty decent as well, I got a black friday deal so I got entertainment, sports and movies for £300 for the year, I add the kids bundle for £3.99 a month.

Probably go back to Sky for TV when they lower the price to Now TV levels or increase the Now TV prices to Sky levels. Sky TV is a lot smoother to use overall. The kids love the Now TV kids though so will be keeping that even if I go back.

The deal I got is without Sky TV or any other package on top, just straight fibre unlimited. Keep trying on the web chat link rather than phone, guess it depends on which Sky expert you speak too. I was just lucky.
Yes it's crazy but you really do have to keep trying. Some operators offer little and others more?
looks like a good deal. nice one.

Apparently all offers are 'point of contact' ...which basically means what you get is dependent on who you get and when you get them.
Talk Talk Faster Fibre is £22.50 per month on an 18 month contract with an additional £100 24hr cashback deal on at Topcashback taking it to £17 per month. I mentioned this deal on chat and they immediately offered Fibre Unlimited and Line Rental at £18. Hope this helps other deal hunters!

Also got the £2.50 admin charge back as account credit.

Thanks
I'm with BT (infinity 1, plus line rental + anytime calls + caller display) appx £64pm was offered £38.50 (12 month but excludes free calls to UK mobiles and 50 international numbers).
Already have sky Q etc.
Trying to move to Sky for £37 (sky fibre unlimited/talk/sky talk international £18.99 + £6.01 + £12)
Last few days online, keep getting Bad request, 502 gateway error. Also live chat always busy or can't connect.

Anyone else having problems getting trough? also do I stand a chance getting price lower through phoning sky (because they're due to increas charges)since I can't get through online/live chat?

If you get the Bad Request page, open up a different browser (Firefox, Chrome etc), and open the link there. Or clear your cache/history that could work. My experience and many others too, is that the deals online are way better than the phone ones, the phone ones are quite inflexible. Definitely use the price increase email as part of your haggling tool. Still it boils down to who you chat to online, but if its an Indian name, theres a very good chance. If its an English name, hard to say. Good luck!

Well thanks to you, I logged onto chat again and used the same Talk Talk deal to maybe get further discounts this afternoon. Waited about 10 mins to get connected. Got Benita who said let me see what offers I can do for you. Came back with £18 pm Fibre and Line Rental, another new 12 month contract!! Chat was about 20-30 min. I wasn't expecting it as I already had a discounted offer, but hey, no harm chancing it again!

Thanks. I got through live chat in the end, but they said they couldn’t go lower than £25pm fibre unlimited + £12 anytime International because its fibre and 18 month contract. I tried using prices going up excuse, but he said no yours are are not going up this time!

I try again tonight,
Thanks op

Went on chat yesterday and said I had been offered some cracking deals by Vodafone and Virgin so needed to reduce my bill.

Initially offered Fibre unlimited for £11.01 and line rental of £13.99.

Said I needed more off my line rental and so got this down to £8.99.

So £20 all in for fibre unlimited and line rental with a 12m contract.

For info, I don't have a sky tv package.

Keep trying folks.
Thanks just got mine for 13.99pm guy was great and said this 33528464-Br2Wf.jpg

What chat department did you speak too? I’ve tried through broadband upgrades and they wouldn’t budge on £38.99 for Fibre plus £60 setup fee. Although they have a new deal of £25 a month. I’m considering NOW Broadband offer if they don’t budge on price again.

Hey kiddo (sorry too easy) - Concur with Lindus use the chat link provided above, don't bother calling. Use the price increase notice if you have it plus other provider offers to negotiate, I used the Talk Talk example used by another poster here to get a second discount. £25 unlimited fibre is now standard, so anything less than that I think is good, be that £18, £20, £22 etc depending on who you chat to.

Hey it’s k L d. I’ve tried that link before but thought it was broken as no operator was joining the chat. I’ll try it again in a bit. I’ve no trouble with Sky (bar taking McAfee off) so I’m happy to stay with them if the price is right.

Oops must go to supersavers. I guess it depends on the time of day you log on chat, just have to wait till they connect you to someone. Close the chat window if it takes too long, and open a new one. Might work.

It is an 18 month contract, I would "threaten" to cancel. You could potentially accept it, then log onto chat sometime later to squeeze a better deal, like I did. Don't know how Sky will treat you the next time, they may have certain quotas to fulfil. Its what you're comfortable with at the end. Did you accept?

No I did not accept as I want a 12 month contract. They won’t do this as I’ve had a 12 month contract twice (broadband unlimited £8.99 a month)

They did say after 12 months get in contact to negotiate a better deal but I wouldn’t say that’s guaranteed the way they are being on chat atm.

Well done to all those that can get it
