Sky HD and Multiroom for £2.50 each per month for previous HD/Multiroom customers

Just had a phone call from one of Murdoch's phone monkeys offering me, as a former HD and Multiroom customer, Sky HD or Multiroom for £2.50 each a month (it was something like £2.45 but I didn't write down the exact amount) if subscribed for 12 months.

Either way, very good price considering they are £10 each per month normally. Haven't seen this advertised anywhere and didn't see it on here earlier, so might be of use to anyone who wants to ring up and try!

The one thing that did worry me was that this is possibly signalling the end of HD charges, but at £30 for the year I thought I'd risk it!

They shouldnt charge for HD when Virgin dont! Its a rip off as it is,

Of course Virgin charge you for HD what do you think the price rises for the TV packages were for. They just don't charge you seperately. Also if you want the movies and sports in HD you have to pay £7 as month extra they do not come as standard and the £7 doesn't even give you the full HD experience.

I agree. We don't have cable in our area so have limited choices to receiving HD channels (more than Freeview HD). Do you have any other suggestions?

Not sure if this is really a deal... if you have to be a previous HD or multi room customer who has ended their subscription (which narrows it down to very few people).... then wait for someone to ring you and offer you this deal (which they might not do for everyone anyway)

If you ring up and ASK for it it's unlikely that they will offer to do it for this price

Thanks for that, will call and give it a go. As cancelled it all down to the basic package as could not get a good deal, But to be honest i had been on half price for the last year and half by phoning every 6 months when the offer at that time expired. Suprised i got away with it for so long, Now hopefully i can have it again in time for christmas x

£2.50 for multi-room is about right, hell of a lot more people would have it at that price. Considering your already paying alot just for one box, then they charge you £10 more to watch the same channels in a different room!

Can I ask how long you have been with Sky?. I have only been with them for 18months so they are not really giving me any good deals yet.

A fair point, but I guessed it might be worth trying for existing customers if they know these deals are being offered elsewhere.

Tempted to give them a call to get a reduction on my multiroom price but don't want to rock the boat as I've been getting the HD pack free for over a year now as they forgot to remove it when i cancelled it...:-)

£2.50 per month is about right for just watching a channel you already pay for in better quality. £10+ was always a rip.

You would be mad to have them looking at your account!

phoned sky up they said they dont have that offer,

pity would of loved that for the football to keep the wife happy

no luck here even tried the old "ive got this friend" trick and it never worked, worth a try though great if you can get it!

Must admit I've never managed to score any kind of deal on the HD charge, maybe things are changing and too many people are dumping the HD pack.

Thanks for the information, will bear this in mind for the future. Heat..

Been with sky for 10 years. Just phoned they said there was a offer but it is now finished. Managed to get 3 months movies half price which is fab as only want it for christmas.
Got multiroom for 7.50 a month for 3 months with free install and Hd box for the kids room subscribed for 12 months plus they are happy to watch their christmas movies now which they will be happy about and now the nagging can stop! Could not get a offer on hd subscription but i still got hd on the freeview channels so not bothered!

We left Sky for Virgin due to the HD charge and a couple of other issues. Much happier with Virgin, especially now we have Tivo. If Sky made HD free and multi-room £2.50 a month as a standard price, they would get a lot of people back.

paying for hd is a disgrace, if bt offered you a choice of a crackly hissy line or a crystal clear line for a lot more you would hang up. i would have thought it there duty to give us the best they have at the millions they charge me every month

just phoned sky they said offer was on , i could get mutiroom for £2.50 a month and a free hd box but it would cost me £60 to install the box .

Is it install the box or install the cables as you can plumb in a box a few minutes

That's a very good offer. Will try calling them to see if I can get anything similar.
Is it £2.50 per month for 6 months or 12 ?

Had similar call when we cancelled the HD option in our package. Sky called back and reduced it to £2.50 and no tie into any contract at all.

I'd rather the 1/2 price sky offer than the 2.50 HD pack. I bet they don't give you both.
