Very unusual for them to break - usually a sticky button gets trapped or if you remove the battery cover, remove the phillips screw, you can prise the case apart - all the buttons are on one piece of rubber and you should clean this in soapy water - below the rubber are the copper contacts - clean very gently - re-assemble and bingo - all works correctly.

Looks like a good deal to me and surprisingly very fair postage costs.
If you phone up sky and threaten to leave. They send you one for free. No extra contract.

Bought two and still only £1 postage cost. Numbers/letters had rubbed off my original remotes. Quite happy to pay this price for them.
£2 TopCashBack on these as well. Another 20% off (Well nearly)
Sky HD came out 12 years ago so it is beyond antiquated in the world of technology, as far as I knew Sky was pushing everyone over to Q, blimey that must have been out over two or three years now and I thought they were totally discontinuing those old HD boxes because of it
Good spot OP, our original one (Rev 8 version) went kaput the other day and I had been trudging across the lounge floor to change channels (took me back to the 70s!) .... looked at the page you posted and spotted the one I was after for only £7.50 accessories.sky.com/cat…all

Not everyone wants Sky Q or pay the extra for the privilege! The 'antiquated' technology is fantastic as it is for most of us.

As for the Remotes, it's a false economy buying cheap ones from eBay - the genuine ones from Sky will outlast the cheapo ones 50 times easily

Easy tiger as I'm not here to argue about what people do and don't want, sorry I seem to have offended you but all I said was I didn't think Sky did HD boxes any more and a quick search of Herr & Frau Google confirms this to be the case as they did ditch them 18 months ago.

Do you use a mobile phone from 2006, have you been sat on the same laptop for a dozen years, do you watch your viewing content on a 12 year old telly? I suspect you'll answer "no" to all three devices which firmly vindicates me using the term 'antiquated' about Sky HD, technology is ever evolving at pace and things have moved on to 4K UHD.

Finally you don't pay any extra for the privilege, the Q box is 'free' because it's hired so you all you pay for is the sub for the viewing package which you've always paid
A bit old technology now Sky hd remote. Is it not free to move to SkyQ?

Absolutely no idea where you're getting that from because they charged me NOTHING to upgrade to Q this time last year. All we did was call them to enquire and they said, free install and no change to our lovely 25 quid a month for everything for the entirety of the 18 month brief. The only thing we paid out extra for was for the activation/install of the mini box in our bedroom about a month later which was 40 quid I think.

And as I said, I got offers the same as you.......

You not said anything about your mobile, pc or telly?
Superb! This is cheaper than those fake alternatives!

Doesn’t matter, Sky + HD is now discontinued and you can no longer buy it. Nor will the boxes be supported by Sky.

These will ONLY work with an old sky+ box.

I'm happy to swap to a new box if they are going to force it on me....but don't fancy the £20 installation cost + £12/ month extra on top of what I currently paid with 'old' Sky+HD

You seem unbelievably hell bent on not picking the dog up n calling them, if you spoke to someone(especially a UK based CS agent rather than the foreign mob) you will get looked after I'm telling ya.

Edit: and anyway 20 quid install seeing you're clearly on the most basic viewing package is hardly something to be sneezed at and once all the members of your household have tasted the benefits of multiroom you'll deem that 12 quid a month proper good value

Cheaper on eBay, every sky installer in the country is subsidising their pay by flogging sky remotes
If you can find a cheap fake one on ebay then buy it and use the rubber pad from that on to your original remote. Someone suggested this to me on this site and I've done exactly that and it works.
If you’ve been with sky 15 years it’s £20 to upgrade to q

Plus £12 a month for multiroom though?
If you're on Sky+ HD now, what do you need to pay to upgrade to Q? I've heard you have to pay an extra £12 a month plus installation fees. Is this correct? Plus what are the benefits of the new boxes? Ta.
I got 2 from eBay for about 4 quid.. they're excellent
Great timing, mines on the way out! Was able to get the NUFC one for £9.99. Great post op.

Not true.
Just say you live in a new build or appartment without the Sky Q LNB and you get a new +HD box.

Nope, they’ll install the new LNB module, did it for me.

depends if its a communal system.

I'm not going to argue on a shopping forum, but the install happened 8 days ago with a standard new Sky + HD box.
Cheaper on eBay btw.

P Plus £12 a month for multiroom though?

Oh yes but we already multiroom on hd wouldn’t be worth having q without multiroom tbh
