Looking for a cheap deal for my sister, currently with o2.

She has been with o2 for years so is reluctant to change, but I’ve always felt that o2 is overpriced so thought this might be a decent alternative as it still uses the o2 network.

This is for Sky TV customers only (£10 more otherwise)

This deal includes an iPhone SE (which I’ve figured to be worth £250 minimum) and £50 topcashback

Sky mobile
£23: 5GB + iPhone SE = £690 (- IPHONE SE 250) = £440
Plus possible £50 (topcashback) = £390
Sky uses o2 network

Equivalent to £13 per month for 5GB of data and unlimited calls and texts

These are the other options I have found so far, if anyone knows of any better deals please let me know. (She uses around 5GB of data a m9nth on her current o2 contract)

BT mobile
£17: 6GB + £70 AMAZON VOUCHER = £134 (12 month contract) / £338 (24 months) / £449 (30 months)
£14.67 per month equivalent

Or

£21: 20GB + £90 Amazon voucher = £162 (12 months) / £414 (24 months) / £540 (30 months)
£18 per month equivalent

Also, does anyone know if Sky mobile iPhones come locked to Sky/o2?

30 month contract

Thanks, I hadn’t spotted that. A bit cheeky calling it swap 24 if it’s a 30 month contract, but I guess it does say it in the small(er) print!

I’ll redo my sums and see if it’s still any good.:/

Hey @riccirus - just edited your title to include the 30 months. Obviously feel free to change the format if you like, just wanted to get it edited while the thread was relatively new.

@moley does it lock to the first sim or the carrier that sends it out?

You have to pay Apple to unlock them. Think it's about £20

Thinks it's the aim honestly don't know unlock codes vary by carrier Vodafone are cheap but you have to have a month payg, o2 are easier

You don’t, the network unlocks the phone free of charge as they are not allowed to charge anymore

do iphones really lock to first SIM or it is just a myth? Seen plenty of posts saying they used mulitple sims

You mean lock

If your with sky tv it's ok soon as you leave contract goes up by 10 pounds be careful

You will have to have sky tv for 2 or 3 years.. when my sky tv ran out last month they could not give me a good enough offers to stay.. it worked out alot more...

I noticed With sky that after your contract is up you get a free upgrade but you have to give your current phone back. Most places let you keep the handset afterwards.

All phones from Sky including iPhone are fully unlocked so you can use whatever SIM you want and they don't lock to the first network you use either.

Not always. I've only heard but never seen iPhone getting locked to first network. In modern world, even if your phone's locked, you call the network provider and they unlock for free.
