OK. Don't know if this is nationawide or simply got these guys on a good day. Was hesitant in posting until I know for sure the details/confirmation.

Got a phone call about 9 days ago - Sky guy wanting to know if I wanted to reinstate my multi-room subscription (which I had about 2 years ago, but cancelled - Sky Go etc) I said not really because of these reasons. He said he could do it for £2.50/month - which is kind of a good price on it's own I guess.

That said, I no longer have the TV in the same room as it was installed last time over. He suggested he could have it reinstalled in another room - which makes sense. Cost - Free! Also - he is bringing a brand new Sky HD box and installing it free too.

So, for £2.50 per month I am getting installation, new Sky HD Box, remote (obviously) and phone line extension - he is coming today to install (phone call last night confirming the details). Result in my opinion, and all for an extra £2.50/month. Worth noting that I am on the package which DOESN'T include Movies and Sports - so it would appear it's not limited to people with the full package.

Like I say - don't know if this option is available if you were to just call them but it's worth a try. Good luck should you decide to go with it.

Lucky you, but thanks for sharing. I might give it a try.

But you wouldn't you still have to pay for the HD package in order to get the HD channels?
Sky have offered myself a free HD box but then I would of had to pay an about extra tenner a month for the HD channels.

Well I already have HD on the current box - actually at home now chatting to the guy and it's HD alright!

I thought it was £10 per household for the HD channels no matter how many multirooms you had?

It is now, the multi HD subscription for multiroom was dropped a while ago

You actually have to wait for the call to come in from a agent, you can't just ring them up and get this offer. It is only a point based offer. Still Hot though.

Is there a similar type deal - or better - for first time multiroom subbers?

Or trying to capitalise on the analogue signal going off on Wednesday.

I also have multiroom for £2.50. Was offered this when I called to cancel my multiroom subscription back in may.

Just a quick update! The box supplied is NOT the recording version, simply a HD box. Still happy days though

Thanks for the heat BTW.

I rang up Sky about 4 weeks ago to complain about something, and after mentioning the dreaded 'V' word, they offered me the same, and a discount on my line rental, so all in all i'm paying £7 a month less, for more, so may be worth ringing and having a go anyway if you have been with Sky for a while. Heat added.

I rang sky to see what I could do about my bill. Ended up being offered reduction in my multi room subscription to £2.50 for next 12mobths so you can get it

I got this deal installed last week when I rang up to cancel sky. I got the regular HD recording box with two cables from the dish (so i can watch one channel and record another). It didn't immediately do it but just had to ring sky and they enabled it.

I cancelled sky tv 12th September, they then sent me a flyer on the 18th offering me 75% off for 12 months + £50 credited to my account. obviously desperate for customers.

Interesting. This may indicate there will be an across the board multiroom reduction sometime in the near future.

I asked the guy and he confirmed my son won't be able to record on it, but can watch all the HD channels which we currently subscribe to. It does look a smaller unit all together too, which would confirm what he says..

Is it one of those boxes that you can link up to the main box and watch recordings from that?

UPDATE: I read that a multiroom box would be able to connect to your main Sky box over a network and that you would be able to watch recordings made on the main box on your mulltiroom box, but from looking on Skys website it is not currently a service that is available.

Wierd just had a look on the sky site , they don't do a non sky+ box , and all the newer boxes are smaller , maybe thats why its £2.50, will have a google

May give them a call. Thanks..

Sounds like a good deal.

I've got the Small HD Box in our bedroom and it's not SKY+ but it is very small so sits nice on a small shelf under the Plasma.

Just rang them up, as a potential Multi-room subcriber trying to get the £2.50 (with my tongue in cheek), understanably they told me it was only being offer from the "outbound sales" department and I was not entitled to the offer.

That being said I just re-subscribed to Sky on the 11th September and got the 75% off offer, so not done too bad!

I want multi room now....was thinking of phoning to cancel my HD pack see if they can offer me a better deal to keep HD and add multiroom

Just to let you know I called and confirmed it is an active offer but only from the outbound call centre. So you cant ring up and get it. They have to call you and that could be at any time during your contract which will extend your contract for another 12 months.

I recently signed up to multiroom and had the same small box but I still had an older sky hd box from an earlier subscription 2 years ago. Gave them a ring and they paired it up in 5 minutes, Now have full sky+HD recording on 2nd box as well but you will need 2 wires coming in.

Yeah, you can be a bit tooo cheeky! Mind, if you don't ask...

I have sky multi-room I dont subscribe to sky and all my channels are free

I cancelled Sky to move onto a combination of Freeview HD and Virgin Broadband. Within a few days they called me and gave me Sky Movies, Sports & Entertainment free til December, at which point I can cancel.

I've recommended to all my friends to leave Sky because of this. So perhaps a back-fire?

I got this same offer and have never had multi room before. When I called to get it expecting it to be £10pm I was offered it for £2.50 and also movies for £7.50 making my monthly total £10 for both which o was expecting to pay just for multi room. Also my box is just HD and not +

I've just got multi room free for 12 months.
There was a problem with my dish and when they tried to charge me for an engineers visit I told them I wanted to cancel and was offered multiroom Sky+ HD just like I have downstairs with anytime plus.
I was out of contract and had to sign another 12 month deal.

I wonder if Sky will let me have it after I cancelled the multiroom lol. They were trying to charge me £60 a month for a full subscription because the multiroom box in the kitchen won't dial out on demand, despite being replaced twice and replacing the viewing card. Bunch of jokers. They haven't got a competitor where I live so they know they've got you by the short and curlies. To55ers.

Found it , its the DRX595 hd box , and you are correct no hard drive so no sky+, they seem to be being coy about this as I cant find any info on the sky website,

This should be in Misc.... its not a deal and there is no subscription for the £2,50 mentioned

We have Sky upstairs and downstairs but they're both completely seperate accounts (second box is registered at my parent's address). I find this preferable to paying £10pm for Multiroom.

We began both contracts in April this year. On the first box we have Sky World on a six month free deal. On the second box we have Entertainment Extra on an half price for 12 months deal.

Come next month they're going to start charging us full price for the remaining six months on the first box so I've already given my 31 days notice to cancel the Sports and Movies on that box. As soon as the Sports and Movies go off on the first box I'll be adding them onto the second box instead and claiming £20 + £25 Topcashback in the process.

Furthermore because we don't officially have Multiroom we're saving a wedge every month by not having to have a landline (we have cable broadband which again doesn't require a phone line). It also means we get four SkyGo accounts instead of just two.

Plus come the end of the 12 months we'll be able to continue watching Sky on one box whilst cancelling the subscription on the other box and waiting for them to send us an offer - and vice versa.

Called but was told no offer, so not really a deal obtainable by all. Apparently you can by a ticket every week and you can be a millionaire by the end of Saturday....get this, the ticket is only £1.......same principal

Ive been looking into getting multiroom but the use it will get wont be worth the £10.25 a month so tried my luck to get it for £2.50 and sky plainly said no. Always worth a shot!

Sky are struggling on all fronts, not only do they need to contend with Virgin, BT and TalkTalks TV offerings as well as the expanding Freeview FTA, but also from online competition such as movie providers netflix and online foreign sat providers showing premier and championship football for free.

The demise of Rangers football club has seen a massive drop in Scottish subs for Sky, and if they pull out of the SPL altogether the backlash from scottish subscribers will be enormous.

They have put prices up this year (1st Sept) and many out there have gotten used to paying half price, so unless Sky keep offering these deals they are going to lose many thousand more customers, (Who pays upwards of £50 a month for TV these days), and the final blow is the number of pubs closing down, another area they used to get guaranteed revenue.

All in all I guess these deal will just get better and better and Sky TV will get worse and worse as investment is pulled back
