Can someone help me. The flat I live in has a communal aerial and the aerial is faulty and I spoke to my housing officer and they said the best signal is available and I can't get any better than the signal I'm getting right now. I spoke to sky and they sent a engineer to install the box but they said the community aerial I have isn't 100% it has 2 faults which has to be rectified before they install Sky and I need to speak to my housing people. So I'm being bounced off from sky to my housing so what shall I do. I'm paying both and getting no signal to watch anything on my old box which I'm using untill they install the new box.
Is this only for new customers or with already customers as well?

Get yourself aerial, separate from the comunal aerial and call them again to install it.

You mean a dish, I can't because Sky engineer knows I have communal aerial and they won't install a dish

if they haven't installed your service and turned it on your shouldn't be paying a subscription at all, you might need an independent adjudicatior to get involved but I'm not sure what the offcom equivalent for this scenario is

Yes another dish. You might need a consent from others tenants living in the house. If the sky company don't agree to mount another one by existing one on the building, ask an private dish installer just to check for you and he will fitted for you. Is the same with international ones but needs a bit of space in between dishes.
What premium channels do you get with the sky tv?

You can get it if you recontract Sky TV.

Yes but I'm using the old viewing card and still get the service and if they check they can see I have been watching channels, so would they still give me the full 4 months refund

This should really be in discussions but anyway, you need to take action. First off, did you might need to explain to Housing that it was the communal dish and NOT the aerial that was at fault? (You seemed to use the two terms interchangeable until you got to the part about a new dish installation.) If you told the council 'aerial' when you meant 'dish' that might account for the confusion, as they are two different systems (at least in my block where Freeview, satellite and FM are three different feeds). Additionally, does the title, "housing officer" really strike you as someone who would be knowledgeable about communal satellite installations? It also sounds like you just had the one Sky engineer. Maybe he was just trying to get out of doing the work, another one might be more helpful.

If the Sky engineer actually left you a report with details of the two faults, I would contact Housing again and give them the new info. If the engineer just said it was faulty I would get on to Sky again and ask them for the details. If they don't have the full engineer's report either I would get them to send round another engineer. If you have a balcony, with a view in the right direction, a new dish should be an easy install. If Sky can't complete the new installation then they should not be charging you already. (I've got no idea why you would have two contracts with Sky and why they are charging you for both). Why hasn't anybody else in your building complained about lack of Sky if neither the old HD+ boxes or Sky Q boxes work properly?

Thanks for your reply.

I meant the problem is with communal dish, I spoke to my housing officer who gave the job to Cam View this is the partner of the housing association who does all their intercoms, doors, security, dish, satellite jobs for them. When I said aerial I meant the sky connection from my box to the socket, that's not the problem and I'm sorry for the confusion.

Yes I called Sky and told them about the problem with installation and discussed everything. Firstly the engineer who came and said I have two faults and I should contact my building society (that's the word he used), which I did and Cam View came and told me they sorted it, which they didn't and made my signal worse now. Sky always send the same engineer in the same area, that's what the person form Sky told me on the phone. He showed me the fault on his machine and I took the photo to show the people from Cam View

This is the photo I showed to Cam View but they said on their side there is no fault. I don't believe them because on my Sky box and tv screen the satellite signal is really poor and the camview man said it's not the signal I should be worried about.

Camview told me the cable from my flat goes to the end of the roof and that's why connection is poor, I think the man that came from Cam View didn't know how big of a problem this is and told me he fixed it.

All my neighbours are getting their signal so it's just me and I don't know how. Probably these people are getting 50% as well and have no one that can complain.

No one is allowed to make holes and put dishes up it's in the tenancy.

The charge I was talking about is Sky is charging £15.00 a month and I'm paying Service Charge for the property which includes Communical repairs and that's £22.00.

One more thing the Camview man told me is in the roof we have the old dishes and tenants are not authorised to fit Sky Q in their flats so everyone has to make do with old Sky HD box. I said what if I want Sky Q, he said it's not possible.

Also he told me if there are enough people complaining then the housing might add new dishes and everyone's connection would get better. Housing know their is a fault and I know there is a fault but what can I do about it.

Got this as an existing customer to so its only an extra 6 a month for the sim (60 for the 12 months that the sim part is) which i can actually use , been living off a free data sim for awhile. You could sell the tablet and make 150+ with this deal, Not even accounting for value of the use of the sim itself. Finally something nice for long term customers

Looks like you are piggy-in-the-middle here. What I don't understand is, if you actually got to speak the the Cam View person, why you would allow them to leave after making the problem worse?

I don't understand about the no Sky Q thing either, when I changed to Q they did not touch the dish itself, all they did was replace the LNB in the middle, the cabling didn't change either.

That's as far as I can go I'm afraid. What you really need it a friendly Sky Installer on here to tell you what the problem is and what should be done to fix it.
Just got this deal. Extended contract by 10 months with TV and for £7 xtra a month get a Samsung Tab A and 8gb sim card. Could of saved myself £1 if I went for the 1gb deal at £6 but thought Id splash out!
Then they added another £1 discount to my plan which brought the cost back down to £6. Nice result!

For xtra £1 you get 8gb
Have any HD customers successfully taken advantage of this offer? I’ve just renewed my Q package and the advisor I was speaking to said it applied to all customers but my parents have just tried to recontract and they were told they weren’t eligible as they don’t have Sky Q. :/
Took this deal, waiting for tablet. with unliumited minutes and tesxts this will save my mum money too.
